Kia ora everyone! Hello! Hola!

I am from New Zealand, where I usually work as a doctor but I am travelling this year instead. So far I have been to South Korea and Taiwan. I am currently in Colombia where I am having a wonderful time enjoying the city of Medellin and trying to learn Spanish. I then plan to travel through Central America.

I like gardening, hiking, and reading. I enjoy spending time in nature whether it be camping, bird watching, or simply reading a book in a park. My motivation to travel is to connect with new people, learn new things (including learning Spanish), and expand my world view. I like to travel slowly to get to know a place and if I am lucky enough get to know the people who live there as well.

Quais são suas habilidades?

- Gardening: I transformed a previously overgrown/unused garden into a lovely urban vegetable garden in my last rented house in New Zealand. I have also frequently helped my mother in her large garden. I have an interest in permaculture and other sustainable gardening practices, which I hope to implement when I move back to New Zealand.

- Farming: I grew up on a large dairy farm so have lots of experience with many farming tasks, physical labor, and looking after animals.

- Customer service: I am friendly and approachable. As well as working as a junior doctor I have worked at retirement homes for the elderly.

- Previous volunteering experience: I have volunteered at an open air bird sanctuary setting/checking pest traps. I have also volunteered at an SPCA (with rescued cats and dogs).
