Descrição
My name is Nick and I’m very excited to learn about Korea! My mother was born in Inchon, and moved to the US when she was 12 in 1980. I am arriving to Seoul in August 2023 where I will meet my Imo and then travel around Korea on my own. I do not have an end date for my travels, and may stay in Korea up to 1 to 2 years.
I have spent many months traveling, living and working through WorkAway. I have stayed in places for 1 to 3 month at a time, while farming, gardening, cooking, and assisting with childcare. I’ve created lasting friendships and felt like family to many homes. I have travelled to about 16 countries, and feel very comfortable on the move.
Professionally, I have a lot of experience in agriculture. I was the livestock manager of a small farm for two years - raising animals ecologically and humanely. I am now a grants advisor, helping farmers apply for government and nonprofit funding. On the side, I am apprenticing as a butcher. I have lots of experience gardening. I can operate a tractor and have basic carpentry skills.
A bit about my interests - I love food! My love for food has clearly guided my work experience, but also my free time. I’m always up for cooking something new or going to local spots.
