Hello everyone!

I'm Neil and I am from Singapore. It might come as a surprise to some that English is the first language in Singapore. So, my command of English is as you would expect from a native speaker. I can also converse in Malay and French.

My work has afforded me a wide range of experiences in leadership, management, operations and training. I am also experienced as a mental health practitioner, coach and mentor. The focus of my time and energy these days is in helping people overcome their challenges and work towards being a better version of themselves. I seek to support social and community initiatives, in my own country and in the countries I am keen to visit.

I love nature and the outdoors, be it hiking in the mountains or swimming in the sea. I enjoy having an active lifestyle, but I also treasure the quiet moments where I can sit still and be part of nature itself.

I am patient, empathetic and adaptable to various cultural and physical environments. I see it as my mission to be able to bring value to Workaway hosts, the ones you help (human and non-human), and to fellow Workawayers.

I am able to teach English. I am keen to speak French and Malay so I can regain the proficiency that I lost due to lack of practice. I am interested in learning new languages, especially Spanish.

Quais são suas habilidades?

English language proficiency & Communication skills - I am proficient in both the written and spoken word, for both formal and informal communication. I have given presentations to small and large audiences and have lectured on various subjects (such as communication skills, business strategy and change management), as well as facilitated group discussions (for example, in managing emotions and handling difficult situations).

Physical fitness - I can work with significant loads and am able to walk long distances. I have completed more than 10 full-marathons/ultra-marathons and have done several triathlons, including an Ironman triathlon. I am also happy to engage in all kinds of recreational sports, particularly football (soccer), volleyball, badminton, running, hiking, cycling, swimming, pool and other cue sports.

Mentoring & Coaching - I am a qualified counsellor and have practiced professionally. I also have experience mentoring youths and coaching working adults.

Business management & administration - I have a Master of Business Administration degree and have extensive experience in the area of leadership and management in several organisations.
