Hello future hosts! My name is Natasha, and I’m a 45-year-old mum of a wonderful 25-year-old son. Throughout his upbringing, I made it a priority to take holidays every year, believing that travel is an essential part of learning and personal growth. Now, with my son grown, I have the opportunity to embrace my own travel dreams and explore the world through volunteering.

I have a heart full of wanderlust and a big smile ready to share with the world. Traveling to as many countries as possible is my dream, and volunteering is my way of giving back while soaking up new cultures. I absolutely adore helping people, having fun, and working hard. People often tell me that my smile, positivity, and warm heart light up the room. With my can-do attitude and cheerful spirit, I’m excited to spread a little sunshine wherever I go!

Professional Experience: My professional background is diverse and comprehensive. I have worked in pharmacies and hospitals, gaining valuable experience in healthcare and customer service. In the catering industry, I learned the importance of teamwork and attention to detail.

Charity Work: My roles in various charities have allowed me to offer advice and information support, helping individuals navigate challenges and find the resources they need.

Health and Well-being: As a health and well-being coordinator, I've developed programs to improve the physical and mental health of others. This role has deepened my understanding of holistic health practices.

Current Studies: I am currently expanding my skills by taking a course in life coaching with hypnotherapy. I’m passionate about empowering others and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Family Life: I've run a household for 25 years, and as part of a big family with lots of children, I've honed my multitasking, organisational, and caregiving skills.

General Housework: With years of experience in managing a home, I excel at keeping spaces clean, organised, and welcoming.

Grounds Maintenance: I enjoy working outdoors and have practical experience in gardening and maintaining outdoor areas, from mowing lawns to planting flowers.

Pet Care: As a lifelong animal lover, I have ample experience caring for dogs and cats, ensuring they are well-looked after and happy.

Helping People: One of my greatest joys is helping others, whether it’s through daily chores, providing support, or simply offering a listening ear.

Natasha was a perfect guest. Quiet and self sufficient when needed but great company (and a good cook) when we wanted to socialise. She looked after our cats wonderfully while we were away and it's a testament to her that our grumpy feral cat fell in love with her allowing tickles and love which Tash has in abundance.

Supporting Josie was an absolute privilege. She’s such a unique and strong character, and I found great joy in helping her get ready for the day, encouraging her to eat her breakfast, and especially accompanying her on her morning walks. It was lovely to see how she responded to the little bits of support and companionship—and of course, a biscuit or three! I appreciated the chance to connect with her, particularly in the moments when I could share a quiet moment, a song, her knitting, or a smile. Her warm interactions with Suzie were heartwarming, and I loved hearing about her naughty night antics, while also feeling for both Frank and Clare, who just wanted (and needed) a good night's sleep.

Suzie is an absolute delight—her energy and independence are remarkable for her age. It was wonderful to witness her confidence and curiosity as she helped out with the animals and picked vegetables. She brought so much laughter and light to the space, and I felt lucky to be around her adventurous spirit. Little Oscar (Bean) is lucky to have such a loving family, and it was a joy to be there for his arrival. Chilli’s warmth and kindness were evident throughout my time with your family. She truly is a beautiful soul, and I’m grateful for the chance to get to know her better.

Sam’s hospitality and willingness to share the local area with us was invaluable. From the breathtaking views at the dam and the warmth and peace of the hot springs to the excitement of the Baza festival, every outing felt like an adventure. I especially loved the local choir concert in Bacor and the strong sense of community there. Sam’s helpfulness made my time so much easier, and I really appreciated his efforts. And watching the football and chatting about our teams added an extra layer of connection.

Frank and Clare are both incredibly kind, intelligent, and caring people, and I really enjoyed my time with both of them. We talked about a wide range of topics, and they both have the time and patience to explain things to me when I was new to a subject. Frank’s stories are very funny, and Clare also has some interesting life experiences to share. I could happily chat with them both all day. I have a lot of respect and admiration for them both—not only for the physical improvements they’ve made to the site, but also for their ongoing support, guidance, and advice to the 300+ Workawayers who have come and gone.

I enjoyed supporting the family with various tasks, and we accomplished some positive collective work together, such as clearing and organising the almazara and courtyard, cleaning and tidying the drive and the run-up to the house, and so much more. But I think I enjoyed putting Frank’s LED lights along the fence in a runway style the most, so we could see the fence at night. Being part of a big, caring community, everyone has their own routine and duties. This will take a bit of time to get used to, and naturally, there are some complications, as it’s a lot of people and energies in one place. They are a normal family and will get frustrated and fed up with each other at times, but this also makes it real and authentic. Be prepared to enjoy the ride. I haven’t even touched on all the Workawayers that come into the mix—it’s a lot to manage, and Frank, Clare, and the family do it so well.

Overall, the experience was enriching, and I truly appreciated the opportunity to contribute in small ways while also learning from all of you. I’ll carry the memories of the time spent with you all, from the camaraderie to the stunning surroundings. I feel fortunate to have been part of your beautiful family for that time. For me, this was an amazing, heartfelt, and meaningful experience. It was challenging at times, but I wouldn’t change a thing, and I’d love to return one day soon.
