  • Descrição

We have been harvesting Christmas trees in Scotland and then went on to explore the most beautiful Country of Georgia where we have been working in a hostel, where i was cooking and gardening and Brian was doing welding and carpentry work on a house renovation.
We return to the UK to work in December then will be seeking exciting ventures from the new year.
We have our own self contained van - so if we are closer to the UK we can supply our own living arrangements but would require electric every so often to charge up the Battery!
We have our own access to the internet from the van too so wouldn't be rinsing anyones WIFI!

Over a decade ago I made the best decision to leave a mundane city existence, straight after graduating at the age of 21, and spend the next 5 years travelling with a sense of purpose - multiple feedback from these placements. These stays and experiences allowed me to broaden my perspectives, with autonomy gifted me maturity and independence, and developed skills in mainly cooking, community work, teaching and childcare in Spain, Colombia, Peru and Nicaragua,. They lead to work from meetings with people where i crew catered for a three week long festival in Panama, and projects in Guatemala building tree houses, hostel work in Mexico and friends I rejoined hiking in India and Nepal.
In the last 5 years i returned to England where I carried my work on as a chef but also as a Outreach Worker supporting vulnerable individuals who were faced with homelessness. I threw my all into the work, priding myself in applying creativity and compassion, I recognised systematic failures and worked in partnership with other charities to improve the structures.
However combined with rising rent costs, life again was beginning to be off balance, where my job was my main identity and my other interests weren't being visited where i was living to work - it felt time to switch this up.
Me and my partner, living in a van, have since been working with a travelling glamping company where I have been cooking 4 meals a day for 50+ people from three hobs where, without blowing my own trumpet, I really feel my compassion for people and attention to detail and love of variation, flavour and colour has proven happy bellies amongst varied dietary needs - and I absolutely love cooking in field with basic amenities.
My partner trained in Brewing and Distilling, we envisage a future project of our own with a small holding and restaurant, but first, with not the finances, we want to develop our skills - specifically in Butchery, making wine and learning from a vineyard stay would be ideal. We both have a love of the Sea - so combining surfing with learning and fishing and preparing seafood would be awesome.
I'd love to learn traditional skills such as making fresh pasta, cheese making, growing mushrooms, preserving, pickling - any potion making i'm interested in!- both me and Brian love getting knee deep in tasks - learning step to step procedures.
I am also really passionate about textiles and weaving - so a farm creating products from the wool would be magic too.
Whilst in between jobs, I worked as an assistant teacher for children with complex needs and behavioural problems. I'm fast paced and full of energy, which attributes seem to work well when engaging with children. I have training in play therapy, and would feel truly at home helping a household with all aspects of looking after a busy house.
Natural perfumery and extracting essential oils would also be something i would love to develop.
I am used to no water and electricity and can make do with the most basic of amenities.
Though Brian is the one with the DIY skills - I am prone to physical activity - so give me a shovel and a spaid, some lovely music or a podcast and I can get down with working on the land or helping on house developments.

My ethos to work is you might aswell make yourself proud with each day applying hard work to gain something so you can feel a sense of achievement.
I am an optimistic person, I am fair. I have a sense of underlying need for justice and balance, so like to take in conflicting interests and believes and apply intuition and logic where needed.
I am suited to a environment where there is fairness and balance between skill shares - specifically enjoying environments of differing ages.
I like to eliminate chaos in the space I create - infact I enjoy tasks others find mundane in organising!
I love music - play some instruments, so a workaway to develop and share in this way would be lush!
