Hey, I'm Morgane, I'm 24 and traveling is my n°1 goal and source of happiness in life.

I think working or volunteering is the best way to travel.
It allows a longer stay and a real, more authentic experience. My best travel memories are from volunteering/working experiences, where I could really connect with the country, its people and culture, all the while contributing to a meaningful project.

Apart from travelling, I love languages, photography and music.

I studied languages, mostly English, I love learning about languages because it helps me understand foreign cultures and opens my mind. So wherever I am, I always try to speak the language (at least as much as I can!)

I'm also a music fan, mostly rock, I love browsing in record shops and playing guitar.

EXPERIENCE :
Wwoofing two summers in a row in 2017 and 2018.
It was in Groningen (northern Holland), in a "eco-hostel", newly settled, so I did all sorts of work from gardening, wood chopping, animal care and all outside jobs, to hostess for the hostel part (welcoming the guests, making breakfast and sometimes dinner, cleaning, taking care of the guests in general etc..)
It was a unique, very meaningful experience for me which allowed me to develop new skills and connect with amazing people. I loved working in a hostel because it allowed me to meet people from all over the world and I loved the team/family/community atmosphere that was present there.

In 2020 : I volunteered in 4 different workaways in Italy :
Hospitality work and gardening in a ranch in Toscana for 3 WEEKS
All kinds of work in a mountain hostel in Lombardia FOR 5 WEEKS
Hostel work in Napoli FOR 4 WEEKS
Hostel and garden work in a B&B in Sicilia FOR 3 WEEKS

In 2021 : another 4 experiences in Italy
Permaculture work in a community near Pescara, Abruzzo for 2 weeks
Permaculture and event organizing in an Ecovillage near Cerveteri, Lazio for 4 WEEKS
Farm and hospitality work in Sardinia for 2 weeks
Olive harvest in Sardinia for 2 weeks

My motto when travelling is "When in Rome, do as the Romans do".
I know every place is different and I know how to adapt to different environments.

Fluent in French and English, I can help you practice those 2 languages.

I speak Spanish and Italian too and want to improve in them.

So I can do translation work between French/English/Italian/Spanish

I also really enjoy cooking (and eating ..) so I would gladly cook for you, for the guests and/or the staff. I like trying out new stuff and learning new ways of cooking but also making my own dishes for others.

I'm familiar with hostel work, like cleaning, being at the reception, make the beds, cleaning some more, explaining the rules and helping out the guest, preparing breakfast etc.. Basically anything that is needed.

If you have a garden I will gladly take care of it. I have basic knowledge of it and really enjoy spending time outside.
I used to work in a gardening store so I got used to 'physical' work!

As said in the description I can do photography, so I can also help you with taking pictures of your place and highlighting it online.

As for entertainment, if you have a guitar, I'm afraid you might have to hear me play on my off-time..

morgane has been with us for around 2 month and i am quiete happy with her.
she is a bit shy but always friendly with guests and socializing with them, also she is very smart with reception work and languages.
we wish her the best and feel to recommend her to any kind of customer service

I stayed at Robin's for the olive harvest and I had a great time! He opened his house to us volunteers and we all felt at home very fast.
The sleeping space was comfortable, we had plenty of food, worked in the mornings (or whenever it wasn't raining..^^) and were free in the afternoon.

So I should start by saying that it is an incredibly beautiful place. At the heart of nature, surrounded by the beautiful hills of Tuscany. You can only hear the cigals and the crickets. So it's amazing for anyone who wants to spend some time in nature, sleeping in a tipi, enjoying the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the place.

I met great people there. There are a lot of workawayers, so there is the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
Of course you have to be hard working, and preferably mention early on to Edwin (the owner of the place) if you want to work in the field. The main work is usually hospitality work, so lots of cleaning (bathrooms, teepees once a week, help in the kitchen before and/or after the meals etc..) you should be a quite independent worker as you'll be expected to figure out how things work, but workawayers usually help each other out, and the work is pretty basic.
Now depending on what there is to do in hospitality, you can also ask to work in the fields, in the morning or evening because it gets pretty hot in summer.

Now, there are some practical things I think you should know which aren't mentioned in the description.
Hours/money : 5€/ hour
Accommodation and food : 15€/day
So the minimum of hours a day is 3 for your stay, and any extra hour is paid.
If you are a girl and don't ask specifically to work in the field, you will most likely be scheduled for hospitality.
And the other way round for boys. I stayed there 3 weeks and except for when we weren't enough for the amount of work, only girls were on the hospitality schedule. There is no discussion about it. The boys were automatically assigned in the field and the girls for hospitality. There is no problem for girls to be in the field and guys in hospitality, but I guess you just have to ask. I did some work in the field but outside of my scheduled hours.
The schedules for hospitality were on a day to day basis, we sometimes had them only really late at night. Which was not ideal given that there is a shift at 6.30 am. But it's also okay if you organize among workawayers.
About days off : you can have one or two days off every week, if you plan and ask in advance of course. But it is totally possible if you want to have them. The only thing is that you will still have to pay the accommodation and food fee, as you will still live on the ranch even if you're off. But in the end you won't have to pay anything because you will work enough the rest of the week. It is a detail but I think it is important to say it, as it says in the description that we work 5 days/ a week. So in the end, yes you can only work 5 days a week but it will be - 30€ from your pay in the end of the week. None of that was fully explained to me when I arrived and the other workawayers told me, which I don't mind but I think it might be good to explain this to every new worker who arrives, or mention it clearly in the description, as it is a sensitive subject and some people might be afraid to ask.
In the end it was all good, I am only trying to be objective and factual here.

Do not expect to learn so much about Italian culture or language or cuisine there. It's a very germanic place, which is totally fine but I think it's important for foreigners to know that in advance. People speak mostly English and German there.
So it's probably good if you don't speak Italian at all and don't want to bother learning it.
Also, if you don't have a car it is pretty hard to go anywhere. You can walk down to the nearest town (pieve santo stefano), which is a 40 min walk down and probably an hour walk up. But, during my stay we managed to visit around a little bit with carpooling.
So, overall, nice experience, beautiful place.
