Descrição
Hello,
My name is Mélody, I'm a french woman living in Northern Quebec since 2017 as a wildlife technician.
I have spent the last several years working and living in remote regions of Quebec and Nunavik, where I developed a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a deep appreciation for nature and community life.
I am currently travelling across Canada and would love to experience life on a ranch or with a welcoming family. I'm currently in the Okanagan valley for cherry picking.
I am an active and outdoorsy person who enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, wildlife observation, photography, cooking, and baking. I love spending time outside and I am not afraid of physical work or getting my hands dirty.
Horses have always been an important part of my life. I rode from a very young age until I was 18 years old and earned my Galop 5 certification in France. My experience is in English riding rather than Western riding.
For the past several years, I have been living and working in remote regions, where horses are not very common. Because of that, the opportunities I have to spend time around horses are quite rare, and when I do, I prefer caring for them, connecting with them, and enjoying relaxed trail rides rather than practicing classical riding.
Although I have never trained horses, I am comfortable around them and always eager to learn from experienced horse owners.
Professionally, I work in environmental and wildlife conservation. My work has taken me to remote field camps where teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving were essential. Living and working in these environments taught me how to be independent, organized, and respectful of shared spaces.
I am easy-going, respectful, and curious by nature. I enjoy spending time with families, sharing meals, helping with daily tasks, and learning about local traditions and ways of life. I am comfortable around animals and would be happy to help with ranch work, animal care, gardening, maintenance, cooking, cleaning, or any other tasks needed around the property.
Travelling has always been an important part of my life. I have had the chance to explore different parts of Europe, Japan, Thailand, Costa Rica, and many places across Canada. These journeys have shaped me by teaching me adaptability, curiosity, and openness to different cultures.
I am currently travelling across Canada by car, exploring its landscapes and wildlife while looking for authentic experiences and connections with local communities.
I believe that cultural exchange is one of the best ways to learn and grow. I look forward to contributing positively to your home while discovering your lifestyle and sharing my own experiences.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope to meet you soon! -

Quais são suas habilidades?
My job required me to be reliable, adaptable, organized, and comfortable working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
I am used to physical work, long days outside, and living in shared environments where teamwork and helping one another are essential. I can help with general maintenance, cleaning, organizing, gardening, cooking, baking, and various manual tasks around a property.
I have experience with animals through my work with wildlife and through my lifelong interest in horses.
I enjoy learning new skills and am not afraid to take on unfamiliar tasks. I am independent, resourceful, and always do my best to complete a job properly.
I am fluent in French and comfortable communicating in English.
I can sometimes be a little quiet and reserved when I first meet new people, but once I feel comfortable, my warm, generous, and caring personality naturally comes through. I enjoy sharing moments with others, helping where I can, and becoming part of the daily life of the people around me. I am someone who values kindness, respect, and genuine connections. -

Algo mais...
I really enjoy board games, and I usually bring some with me when I travel. I have also started different handcraft projects, such as knitting and sewing leather mittens. I would love to learn more traditional crafts or any kind of craftsmanship from my hosts.
I love sharing moments with people, especially while cooking, having meals together, or simply enjoying conversations. At the same time, I also appreciate quiet moments to relax, read a book, or enjoy my own time -
