Hi, I‘m Maggie,a retired scientist & leader from the global healthcare industry. Having worked with people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds in an innovative and sometimes challenging environment, I am a well travelled and experienced team-player. Mother of two wonderful sons in their early 20’s, with a friendly, open and creative personality, combined with a good sense of humor.
Luckily I now have the opportunity to travel at my own pace, taking the time to meet new people, embrace new cultures and ways of life, while making a valuable contribution to their environment, always learning along the way 😊
My workaways so far:
4 weeks, Alpaca farm , Germany: animal care, general farm maintenance tasks, tourists trekking
7 weeks, cultural center, France: various maintenance, help with food preparation for guests and friends, helping with events.
4 weeks, Forest estate in Portugal: planting and pruning trees
2 weeks, private villa Spain, gardening & maintenance
Sheep farming Ireland: regularly, throughout the year, especially for lambing season
During this new life phase, I‘ve helped and worked with wonderful interesting, kind and generous people of different ages and backgrounds. Using my own skills and learning new ones, I was able to add essence and make a positive impact on the respective hosting environment, both for the hosts and their projects, as well as for fellow volunteers & travellers.
