Hi there!

My name is Maxine, and I'm so excited to get to experience my first workaway trip ever. I love learning new skills and trying out new stuff, which is why I've just finished an entry-level carpentry course, even though my background is academic. I enjoyed the creativity and connectedness to the material that the carpentry course gave me, but because I am very interested in culture studies I will continue to do a masters in Modern Culture after this summer.

I would describe my self as a warm and compassionate person, who is very interested in learning and experiencing other cultures than the one I have been raised in - and this curiosity is what have brought me to workaway. I live in Copenhagen and find my self spending too little time in nature, even though going on outdoor trips sparks me joy. This is why I also want to do this kind of traveling - disconnect from the overstimulating city life and being active in a more wholesome way outdoors with inspiring people!

Last but not least I love eating food and cooking food with other people, this for me is the biggest love language. So I hope to share loads of nice meals with my hosts and fellow volunteers.
