Hi! I’m Denis 👋
I’ve been lucky enough to travel since I was young thanks to my parents, and that’s something that shaped who I am. Getting to know new places and people has always sparked a deep curiosity in me. I think that’s where my love for learning, discovering, and moving around comes from.

Desde chico tuve la suerte de poder viajar gracias a mis papás, y eso me marcó por completo. Conocer nuevos lugares y personas siempre me ha despertado mucha curiosidad. Creo que ahí empezó esta necesidad de seguir moviéndome, de aprender y de ver cómo viven los demás.

I’m an engineer, and I really love what I do. I’m always trying to improve, learn something new, and enjoy the process. For a while now, I’ve had a clear goal: to eventually work in Germany. It’s a country that has always fascinated me — its culture, its organization, and all the natural and human wonders it holds.

Soy ingeniero y me gusta mucho lo que hago. Siempre intento mejorar, aprender algo nuevo y disfrutar el proceso. Desde hace un tiempo tengo una meta clara: conseguir trabajo en Alemania. Es un país que siempre me ha llamado la atención por su cultura, su forma de trabajar y también por la cantidad de cosas que tiene por descubrir.

But before making such a big move, I want to really get to know the country — not just as a tourist, but by living it from the inside. I want to experience daily life, connect with people, and understand the rhythm of things. That’s exactly why I decided to join Workaway.

Pero antes de dar un paso tan grande, quiero conocerlo de verdad. No solo como turista, sino viviendo un poco su día a día, entendiendo cómo es la gente, el ritmo, los pequeños detalles. Por eso me animé a comenzar en Workaway.

I’ve never done a volunteering program before, but I’m a very hands-on person — I don’t mind getting dirty, working hard, or learning new skills. I adapt easily, I like helping out, and I’m good with tools. I’m always open to trying something new.

Nunca he hecho un voluntariado, pero soy una persona práctica, que no le teme al trabajo físico ni a ensuciarse las manos. Me adapto fácil, me gusta ayudar y aprender. Soy bueno con herramientas y siempre estoy dispuesto a probar algo nuevo.

Right now, I’m learning German, although my work doesn’t always leave me much time to focus on it. My English is good enough to have conversations, but it’s definitely something I want to keep improving — another reason why I want to travel and practice it directly.

Estoy aprendiendo alemán, aunque por mi trabajo no he tenido tanto tiempo para enfocarme en ello como quisiera. Mi inglés es suficiente para conversar, pero todavía tengo mucho por mejorar — y justamente esa es una de mis razones para viajar: practicarlo y perderle el miedo.

I’m not traveling with a big budget, so I’m looking for a fair exchange — accommodation, and if possible, meals. In return, I offer my enthusiasm, reliability, and a positive attitude. I’m really interested in learning about local life, sharing stories, and connecting with people.

No viajo con mucho presupuesto, así que busco un intercambio justo: hospedaje, y si es posible, comida. A cambio, ofrezco entusiasmo, compromiso y buena actitud. Me interesa mucho conocer cómo vive la gente, compartir historias y aprender de cada experiencia.

I enjoy peaceful places, nature, and family projects where real connections can happen. If possible, I’d love to have one or two days off per week to explore nearby places and get to know more of Germany.

Me gustan los lugares tranquilos, la naturaleza y los proyectos familiares donde haya convivencia real. Si es posible, me gustaría tener uno o dos días libres a la semana para poder conocer un poco más del país, moverme y vivir Alemania más allá del voluntariado.

More than anything, I’m looking for genuine experiences — kind people, simple moments, and real learning. I truly believe that exchanges like this remind us that, in the end, we’re all learning something from one another.

Más que nada, busco experiencias genuinas. Gente amable, momentos simples, aprendizajes reales. Creo que este tipo de intercambios son una gran forma de recordar que, al final, todos estamos aprendiendo algo de alguien.

I’m a mechanical engineer, but beyond that, I really enjoy working with my hands and learning through experience. Over the years I’ve done a bit of plumbing, electrical work, and some carpentry — not as a professional, but enough to fix things, build, or lend a hand where needed.

I like figuring out how things work, solving small problems, and helping to make life a little easier for the people around me. I’m curious, patient, and never afraid to try something new. Every new task feels like a chance to learn something useful, and that’s something I really value.

Soy ingeniero mecánico, pero más allá del título, me gusta mucho trabajar con las manos y aprender haciendo. A lo largo del tiempo he hecho un poco de plomería, electricidad y algo de carpintería — no de forma profesional, pero sí lo suficiente para reparar cosas, construir o ayudar donde se necesite.

Me gusta entender cómo funcionan las cosas, resolver pequeños problemas y hacerle la vida un poco más fácil a quienes me rodean. Soy curioso, paciente y nunca me da miedo intentar algo nuevo. Cada tarea nueva es una oportunidad para aprender algo útil, y eso es algo que realmente valoro.
