I'm Marie, 24 years old, living in Dresden, Germany and studying to become a teacher for German and English. I'm very interested in getting to know other cultures and meeting new people. I love to learn languages and would like to experience English on a daily every day level outside university. My interests are broad from doing sports such as volleyball, reading through various genres and cooking. My friends would describe me being a open-minded, sympathetic and fun to be around person. Besides I am very relieable and hard-working. Since 2020 I'm working in a café in Dresden which is only possible due to good organization and discipline. I love helping, teaching and sharing experiences with other people. In addition to my internships in various German schools during my studies, I lived in England for 10 months and worked as an Aupair looking for two children. During my internships, I worked as a teacher for multiple times for 1 month at a length.
During my stay, I would like to improve my English further so that I can be the best teacher possible for my future students. I would love to tell them later on about my experiences and travels abroad.

I love to get to know other people and am very communicative. I'm a native German speaker. English is the language I speak on an everyday basis in my university courses. I'm also able to understand some French and Spanish, although I would need some practice to become fluent in speaking again. After many years of studying to become a teacher for German and English, I already expierenced teaching children of different age groups in school. I would love to do so during my stay.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Before university, I worked as an Aupair for 10 months in England, in the suburbs of London. I looked after two, at that time 12 year old boys. Later during my studies, I have done various internships and gained experience to teach heterogenous groups of children. I worked as a babysitter and am currently frequently looking after my 6 months old niece. These first experiences in childcare depict a major influence for my decision to become a teacher.
I speak German and English and can still remember some Spanisch and French from school. I'm a hard working person, working in a café next to my full timetable in university. I'm responsible for many guets and serve fresh cakes and coffee besides other warm meals and drinks. Often, it gets crowded, so I know how to work fast and efficient and have a high stress tolerance. In the mornings, work often starts at 5 a.m. so I'm used being an early bird. I like to make my guests and costumers as happy as possible. My tasks include besides the ususal business of gastronomy and service, customer advisory, ordering as well as accounting. I love to work in a team, but am also very able to work on my own.
I like to built up my strengths furthermore and develop further with every new experience.
