Descrição

Hi! We’re Marco (22, from Glasgow) and Nina (21, from New York City). Marco graduated from the University of Glasgow last year and spent some time living in Rome teaching English, while Nina was finishing her degree at McGill University. We both studied politics and met during Nina's semester abroad. We’re both in NYC this summer and getting ready to set off on a few months of backpacking through South America together!

We’re both active and outdoorsy - we love hiking, camping, swimming, and exploring nature - and we’re always eager to learn from new people and trying new things. We are fast learners and ready to get our hands dirty!

When we travel, our goal is to really get to know a place and spend meaningful time there, rather than just passing through.

Yes! We both speak English and Italian, and would both love to improve our Spanish. Marco is also a certified English teacher with experience and would be happy to do a language exchange.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Marco - I spent time in Rome, where I taught English to adults and volunteered with refugees -- leading English lessons, organizing fundraising events, and playing football with them as a way to build community. I also have experience in customer service, having worked as both a server and a hotel receptionist. I love to be outdoors and am passionate about learning history!

Nina - I grew up in a large family with many younger cousins and has extensive experience caring for children as both a babysitter and a preschool teaching assistant. I have also been involved in community organizing with a public defense firm in the Bronx, NY, and volunteered with a charity supporting people returning home from prison. I have also worked in as a server and hostess. I love to practice yoga and play guitar!

We are both comfortable with cooking, cleaning, and are always happy to lend a hand wherever needed!
