Hey,
Matthias and I (Maike) are from Heidelberg, Germany. I graduated from university in March of this year and have been working full time as a Physio Therapist in a local orthopedic clinic. I have been teaching yoga once a week (Vinyasa) and have been part-time working as a research assisstent in the physiotherapy field. It has been a lot, but I enjoy my work & liked the mix of it. Matthias works part time as a software engineer in geo-informatics for a non profit organization. The rest of his time he is either cooking delicious food, investing himself in the newest interesting topics by reading everything he can find about it (from tree cutting to ETFs) or moving his body e.g. with climbing or yoga.
Both of us love to spend our time outside in nature, hiking and learning about mushrooms, trees and herbs. Matthias has been to NZ twice, so it wasn`t hard to convince him of my idea to go for an entire year! I have done the working-holiday visa in Canada in 2018/2019 and enjoyed my time so much, that I have always planned on going back. But NZ first!
. We want to spend a lot of our time hiking through the beautiful landscape NZ has to offer but also want to invest our time into projects that we are interested in and can learn more about alternative, sustainable lifestyles.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I ( Maike) have worked in many different jobs (waitress, host, receptionist, kitchen helper, teacher assistent/tutor) before I went to university to become a physical therapist. I have also done my 200h Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga alliance certified) in 2022 and have been teaching Vinyasa once a week since then. I have good time management skills, like to organise and would consider myself a hard working person if I know what I am doing ;)
Since Matthias has been in the IT workfield for over 5 years now he knows his way around website development, software engineering, and in genereal can help out most of the time concerning IT issues. On top of that he is an excellent chef for vegetarian/ vegan food, quiete the handy man who fixes stuff before throwing things away and can tell you a lot about mushrooms :)
