Hello!

We are Lucy (43) and Paul (39), from the UK.

We think we are:

1. Extremely practical with lots of skills and initiative.
2. Hardworking and self-motivated, with a positive attitude.
3. Very tidy, considerate and calm.
4. Easy to get along with, fun, kind and light-hearted.
5. Intelligent, creative and open-minded.

Summary:

Paul is a Mechanical Design Engineer, and previously worked as a Sous Chef at a local bistro. He loves snowboarding and cycling, and hopes to learn kite surfing.

Lucy is an ex-Army Officer, now a Homeopath, and has previously restored an old property. She plays the piano, and also enjoys web design, content creation and writing.

Paul:

- Chartered Mechanical Engineer in the Oil & Gas, and Defence industries.
- 10 years working as a Sous Chef in North Norfolk (UK).
- Two winter ski seasons working with school children in Switzerland.
- Practical and resourceful; can turn my hand to any task.
- Grew up on a family farm with over 2,000 pigs, 20 chickens & 2 ferrets.
- I am interested in horses and I have ridden several times, and hope to ride a lot more.
- I have renovated my own house including plumbing the heating system, wiring the electrics; plus carpentry of hanging doors and making furniture.
- Last summer I laid an Indian stone patio, putting in a proper sub-base and mortar bed.

Lucy:

- Homeopathic practitioner with a love of natural health, whole food and wellbeing.
- Former British Army Captain / United Nations Events Director.
- Winter and Summer seasons worked in France including Resort Management.
- French speaker (intermediate).
- Previously renovated an old house - particular love of natural eco interior design.
- I have a side business in website design, social media and content creation/writing.
- I have experience in teaching, workshop facilitation, leadership and business coaching.
- I have completed many sustainability courses - including regenerative farming and building.

We have decided to leave behind life in the UK, and return to the travels that we did when we were younger. We want to experience new cultures and ways of life; share food, skills, stories and ideas with the people we meet; do something worthwhile and purposeful with our time - to keep motivated, fit and inspired by the places we go and people we meet.

Some of our skills include:

+ RENOVATION & DIY: We are both very practical and skilled, including: plumbing, electrics, carpentry, tiling, painting, plus laying a patio and interior flooring.

+ ENGINEERING: Paul is a Mechanical Engineer.

+ FARMING, ANIMALS, GARDEN & PERMACULTURE: Paul grew up on his family farm, and Lucy has attended several courses in sustainable, organic and regenerative farming. We are both dog and animals lovers; and are not afraid of the hard work that comes with caring for animals.

+ HOSPITALITY: We love hosting. We have both worked Winter and Summer seasons. Lucy has renovated and set up a successful 5* Superhost boutique Airbnb.

+ NATURAL HEALTH: Lucy is a qualified homeopath. You can find her online and social media as The Classical Homeopath. She enjoys teaching and giving talks to groups of friends and communities. She also teaches animal homeopathy to farmers with an charity called HAWL.

+ COOKING: Paul worked as a Sous Chef throughout uni, his travels and beyond. We both love cooking fresh, wholesome, healthy and delicious food.

+ BUSINESS, WEB & SOCIAL MEDIA: Lucy has a side business in web design and creating social media content, flyers, etc. Paul is very adapt with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus 3D/2D CAD software.

+ TEACHING/LEADERSHIP: Lucy has a background in leadership, teaching, coaching and developing others. Paul has taught snowboarding and mentored junior engineers.

+ HOUSE SITTING: We are both animal lovers, and from farming families, with dogs, sheep, cows, pigs, chickens etc. We are extremely tidy and responsible house guests, and we communicate with you as much or as little as you prefer. We treat your home, your pets, and your belongings as we would our own - in other words, with the upmost of care and attention. We can provide excellent references for house/pet sits we have done.
