Hello, my name is Livia and I love discovering new cultures and learning from the people around me. Traveling makes me genuinely happy and has always been a big part of my life. Working with children is also another big source of joy for me, I’ve been working with children for 2 years now and have been enjoying it so much. In general I’m a very cheerful and organised person and I try to bring positive energy wherever I go. I also really like staying active by doing different kinds of sport and I love connecting with people. I’m excited to learn, help where I can and experience meaningful exchanges with my hosts.

I’m interested in both learning and teaching languages. I would be happy to help others improve their English, but of course I can also teach some German since it’s my mother tongue. I’m also always open to learning new languages myself even if it’s just a few words for me language is a big part of understanding a culture so I enjoy picking up whatever I can.

I graduated from a sports highschool in June 2025 and have been doing different kinds of sport my whole entire life. I’m currently still doing gymnastics, but mostly as a hobby and at the same time I am a trainer myself for groups of children from age 3 to age 14. I recently also started working as a ski instructor where I spend a lot of time with children aswell! It can be challenging sometimes, but I’ve gained a lot of experience and can work with toddlers just as well as with teenagers and i always enjoy spending time with children. Besides that I’ve loved learning English in school and can speak it fluently.

In my free time, I really love spending time with my family and my friends. I love having quality time with my friends such as going out to eat but I also love watching the news with my parents and my brother. I also enjoy being in the nature so here and then I like to go on a walk.

Choosing to become an au pair in Japan was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I couldn’t have imagined a better family to spend this experience with. Even months after leaving, I still think about them almost every single day. At least once or twice a week I find myself looking through all the pictures and videos with the biggest smile on my face, remembering all the little moments we shared. I always love getting updates from them, and I already can’t wait for the day I can finally fly back and see everyone again.

Megumi made me feel at home from the very first day. She welcomed me as if I had always been part of the family, and by the time I left, that’s exactly how I felt. They are no longer just my host family—they truly became my second family. Sera, Sora and Miku became like my little sisters, and saying goodbye to them was one of the hardest things ever🥹. I honestly wished I could have stayed a little longer, but I know I’ll be back one day!

I also want to say how special Sera, Sora and Miku each are in their own way. I love every single one of them, and it was such a joy to watch them grow, even during those two short months. Seeing their confidence in speaking English improve, watching their different personalities shine, and feeling them trust me more and more every day was incredibly special. If I could, I’d give all three of them the biggest hug right now. 🫂

There are so many memories that I’ll treasure forever. The family dinners, playing games with the girls, our weekend trips, going out for sushi with Miku - every single moment was special.

The WorkAway experience itself was also perfectly organized. The balance between helping the family and having enough free time to explore Sapporo and Hokkaido was ideal. The working hours were fair, the days off were well planned, and I always had enough privacy whenever I wanted it. At the same time, I always felt welcome to join family activities or simply spend time with the girls. 💓

And I have to mention the food… I absolutely loved every meal! I honestly couldn’t stop eating whenever Megumi cooked. I still miss her miso soup so much! 😩

Finally, I just want to say how much I admire Megumi. I have so much respect for everything she has built and how she manages everything every single day. She is one of the strongest and most inspiring people I’ve ever met, and I truly look up to her. 💟

Looking back, I honestly can’t think of a single negative thing about my stay. I left Japan with nothing but wonderful memories, unforgettable experiences and a second family on the other side of the world. 🇯🇵🇦🇹

If you’re thinking about staying with this family—don’t hesitate. I can recommend them with all my heart. Thank you for giving me a place that will always feel like home. I miss you all so much, and I can’t wait until we meet again. ❤️
