  • Descrição

Our names are Louise and Louise (yes, the same name and many similarities in our personalities too!), two friends aged 23 and 24, recently graduated from HEC in Liège, Belgium. We've been friends since the beginning of university and have already traveled together to Spain and France. We share the same outlook on life and the same values. Our friendship is built on communication and respect, so we never really fight. We often laugh about how alike we are!

Before starting our professional careers in January, we are looking for a different and meaningful experience. We have talked about this project for a few months now. We’ve chosen to do a workaway because we believe it’s a good way to connect with people, immerse ourselves in local cultures, and contribute to meaningful projects while learning valuable hands-on skills. It is also something new and we are up to new adventures. We hope to have a wonderful time during our first workaway experience!

Now let's describe a bit each of us:

We both share a deep love for animals, especially dogs and horses.

As for me, Louise T., I’ve always had a passion for travel and have been eager to explore through experiences like this one. I enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone, and at 17, I left Belgium to spend a year in the USA. Since then, I’ve embraced trying new things and seeking out adventures. I’ve been involved in Girl Scouts since I was 12 and later became a scout leader for five years, so I’m comfortable working with kids and love spending time in nature.

I grew up in an environmentally conscious household. My dad is very self-sufficient and makes almost everything himself, and we primarily eat vegetables from our garden. He's also incredibly handy, and I have to admit I’m a bit of a daddy’s girl—I always wanted to do projects with him. He’s taught me things like how to drywall and even how to build a table!

My brother and I have always had a deep love for animals, and for several years, we spent our summers at a horseback riding camp. We've always been surrounded by cats and dogs growing up. Currently, we have a French Spaniel named Marley (named after the movie "Marley and Me").

Our family's favorite vacation spot is Brittany, France, where we enjoy taking long walks on the beach with Marley, of course, and then coming back home to enjoy some seafood.

    —---------

Let me introduce myself, Louise C. Like my wonderful friend, I have always had a deep connection with animals, although growing up, my parents only allowed me to have cats. While my beloved cats are no longer with me, this has only fueled my desire to spend more time caring for animals, especially dogs. I may not have had dogs of my own, but I’ve often been a dog sitter and never miss a chance to take my friends' or boyfriend’s dogs for walks.

I’ve been passionate about horseback riding since I was five, and though my studies have kept me from pursuing it as much as I would have liked, the idea of reconnecting with horses is incredibly exciting. Beyond animals, I have a love for nature—hiking, spending time outdoors, and discovering new places. This love for the outdoors has inspired me to seek out experiences that combine my passion for animals, nature, and cultural exchange.

Travel is another important part of my life. I spent a semester of my studies abroad in Tallinn, Estonia. Last summer, I spent two months backpacking through Southeast Asia with my boyfriend, and it was a transformative experience. It deepened my desire for more meaningful, nature-centered adventures and opened my eyes to the richness of meeting people from diverse cultures. That’s what draws me to Workaway—I’m eager for new experiences that challenge me and allow me to contribute in a meaningful way, whether that’s on a farm or in a community project.

We are both open minded and looking for a human experience. Also, not afraid of having to spend time outdoors and willing to really help the hosts we will be connecting with :)
