Hello! My name’s Lara, 27, and I’m from Wales, UK 🙂 I'll be travelling in France this spring/summer during a three-month break from work and am ready for a change from my usual routine, embracing fresh experiences and connections with new people and places.
I have experience working and volunteering across community, arts, retail, and education settings, including administration, communications, event support and facilitation. I studied French in university, and I’m keen to further build my confidence and fluency through everyday conversation and immersion in local communities.
I’m calm, easy-going, positive, and always open to trying something new! I’m passionate about all things creative and usually have multiple crafts projects on the go like collage, fibre arts, jewellery-making, and pottery. I enjoy being outdoors hiking, gardening, and staying active through yoga and dance. I also appreciate cosy moments at home reading with a cup of tea, listening to music, cooking and trying new recipes etc.
I’m looking forward to taking part in meaningful projects and contributing my skills and enthusiasm while sharing daily life, exchanging stories, and making happy memories!

I studied French as part of my degree and have been trying to keep up with my language skills while living and working in the UK however I am very keen to continue my learning through immersion during my time in France. I am open to language exchange and have a bit of experience teaching English :)

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have years of experience in front-of-house roles such as reception, art gallery assistant, and bookshop assistant, where I developed strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work well under pressure and problem-solving. I’m also confident with administration and online tasks, and have some experience in project management.

I’m a practising artist with skills in fibre arts and sewing. More broadly, I’m practical and creative, able to help with arts and crafts tasks and offer support to creative initiatives. I also have experience working with children, both as a voluntary play assistant and in education settings, and facilitating youth work and craft sessions for families.

I’m comfortable with a range of household tasks, including cooking and meal preparation, cleaning and tidying, and general day-to-day support. I‘ve done some simple diy domestically, including basic woodworking and painting . I’m very happy to help with manual work, odd jobs, basic maintenance, and outdoor tasks. I currently volunteer at a community garden, pitching in and assisting with seasonal planting and maintenance under the guidance of experienced gardeners.
I pick up skills quickly, learn best by doing, and am not afraid to get my hands dirty! I am reliable and approach every task with care, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
