Hello! We are Max and Kaviya and we are/have been slowly travelling around Thailand,Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia Vietnam and Philippines. We have experienced working on a permaculture farm in Northern Thailand through workaway which was an incredible and unqiue experience, and are looking to enrich our travels with other experiences like it!
Max:
I'm from London, UK, this trip is my first backpacking experience and experiencing other cultures and meeting such a variety of people has been really incredible. I've had the chance to do this as I/we saved up for a couple of years while preparing for this year long trip while working.
I quit my job in the corporate IT sector as I actually want to re-train in the environmental sector, with a focus on agricultural sustainability or possibly re-wilding/sustainable land management. I love the opportunities that Workaway provides in terms of being able to learn skills, meet new people and help out with all sorts of projects!
Kaviya:
I was born in Norway (and my parents are from Sri Lanka) and moved to London when I was a teen, I've always been keen to travel, explore and learn about different places and cultures. I studied Environmental Science at university and did my masters in Environmental change, and it's something I'm very passionate about and am involved in community organising back in London. I have been working with UK based climate groups which focus on addressing key issues like a just tranisition to clean energy.
Like Max I also quit my corporate job and now I am looking now in other directions as to what I want to do in life, and this trip is helping me realise that :). I'm excited to be on Workaway and try new things, meet people from all over the world and be part of the community!
We are both active when it comes to social and climate justice, and would be interested in joining hosts that also care about the wellbeing and liberation of all peoples :)

Quais são suas habilidades?
Kaviya:
I have a BSc in Environmental Science, and a MSc in Environmental Change and international development. I have years of experience in qual research, outreach and skills in creating and producing content for social media. I am a keen artist who loves to create pieces across multiple mediums such as putty on canvas, watercolour, acrylic and pour paints :).
I know multiple languages, fluent in English, Tamil and Norwegian. I also love caring for children!
Max:
I have a BSc in Cybersecurity and Business. I have years of experience in tech as a cybersecurity professional, so I am experienced overall in tech and can help troubleshoot devices/network issues/software issues. Prior to and during my degree I worked in various customer service roles such as bartender and server and some other roles in hotels/bars/pubs.
Recently I decided on a career change however and want to work in sustainability with a focus on rewilding/reforesting/permaculture and native and indigenous ways of caring for the land. For reference one of my favourite books is “Braiding Sweetgrass”.
I enjoy cooking a lot, and experimenting with new vegan recipies. I have experience in gardening/plant care and plant identification (mainly UK IDs), having done nature volunteering part time over 2 years. I have some experience caring for pets such as hamsters (and dogs) also. I love to play the piano also!

Pure is a great host, and the farm is an awesome place. Firstly the food - you get 3 meals a day, Pure was doing all the cooking and it was always delicious. There's always loads of variety too, he is a top chef.
