Who are we?

Hi it’s Kasia here! I’m from Poland and I’m 21. I am a self employed English teacher. Someone once said “if you love what you do you never spend a day working” and I agree! I love being surrounded with curious sponge-like minds that swallow every piece of knowledge that I can get to share with them. I try to be as open as possible to new ideas, activities, cultures, languages because I believe that we only have one life so we better take in all it has to offer. :)
My life goal is to be happy. I am a spontaneous kind soul who seek joy in all that I do and the world around me.

It’s Hania here! Currently I live in Krakow where I study adventure tourism but originally I’m from Tatra mountains. At first moving to the big city was challenging for me because I missed being surrounded by peace and quiet that being surrounded with nature and mountains give. From as long as I can remember there were lots of animals around. Cats, dogs, horses, I just couldn’t and still can’t imagine my life without them! That’s me - animals and nature.
Beside that I’m super excited to travel and connect with people from around the world with similar values and ideas. It’s the strongest thing that keeps me going! It gives me so much joy and motivation!
I believe that borders are only lines on the map. 😉
Why Workaway?
It’s such an amazing idea to just travel around the world, meet new people while experiencing new cultures from the inside. We are so eager to immerse ourselves in other little worlds seeing how you guys live, exploring the nearby area. Without a need in our hearts for hotel rooms we want to see and experience the real world.
What We Bring to the Table
We can help with animals (pet sitting, cat/dog sitting and other ones as well such as donkeys and horses for example!), gardening, kids, cooking (Hania’s a great cook!). We are not afraid of hard work although we’re still just girls (strong, independent of course but just girls :p). What else can we do (except of everything)? Also, if we don’t have much knowledge in some field we are more than eager to learn! It’s always a bonus to learn something new and we look forward to it!
What We’re Like
Our duo together is a total power of positive energy. It’s the combination of opposites which combined together give perfect balance and harmony. Just by taking one look at us you can see the essence of friendship. We hype each other up to the point that we feel like we can face all the challenges we encounter.
We met at a horse riding camp where the love and passion for animals brought us closer. We love delicate and tender approach to animals, understanding their language, seeing the world through their eyes and learning how we can better communicate with them so they would understand. Those are the values we share.
We’ve moved to Krakow for uni where we grew even closer by doing various sport-related activities such as: rock climbing, running (with the idea to run half-marathon), cycling, swimming (we tried 1/8 Ironman distance and we loved it!), hiking, skiing, snowboarding and much more (sleeping in a car we count as an extreme sport).
We are both vegetarian which I think says a lot. We have a deeply rooted need for the world to be a better place. We care deeply about sustainability, ecology, environment and animal protection. We don’t mind living with people who eat meat as we don’t force our beliefs on others but we would be happy for the option of vegetarian meal.
