Hello, I am Jeanne, 52 years old woman. I love travelling, meeting people, learning about many topics.
For 20 years, I was managing software projects. Then decided in 2014 to go for a new peaceful and adventurous life.
I have volunteered in South Africa for DAKTARI Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage NGO for 9 months, working with teenagers, communities, animals, the maintenance team and I enjoyed it a lot.
In Kenya, I stayed 2 months to support and advise on presentation and marketing a community of women making beautiful crafts, hand bags etc from plastic.
I stayed 6 months in Greece - Andros island, where I set up a dog shelter and organised cat neutering programs, while creating the Andros Love for Animals welfare. I was also a consultant for organizing the development and marketing of hiking tourism on the island.
I stayed 5 months in the USA and amongst other things, have helped at a horse rescue with feeding, care and basic training.
I have worked in touristic structures and schools as well.
Today, I teach languages, yoga and meditation and I am learning artistic painting. I am currently taking a break to travel around and follow my heart's will.
I aim to embrace a peaceful life close to nature and share experiences and good vibes.
I like walking, swimming, diving, writing, painting, any creative activity, meditating and discussing about philosophy, the magic of life and its great surprises :)
I am dreaming of building or being part of a project close to Nature where more people could find inner peace through Nature, Animals and Arts. Or simply finding a cute new home were to write and paint.
I am responsible, respectful and reliable and I have quite a wide range of skills.
Non smoker, vegetarian, easy and peaceful.

I stayed 10 days at Jeanies, close to Cedar Hills, about 20 mn bus ride from the center of Victoria, and very close to a Golf parc where you can walk, jog, cycle and also join a sports & art center.

Jeanne was a wonderful addition to the farm. She had a very peaceful, joyful attitude about any task I asked her to do. She helped keep the airbnb guest room clean and ready for guest. I have been staying here with Cheri, Viet, 8 dogs, 4 cats, 3 donkeys and about 30 horses for 2 weeks now.

I have spent 3 nice weeks at Mrs B, who is living in the fields close to Pagos village, on the western part of Syros island.
The volunteer villa is functional and nice: big bathroom, a small kitchen, the main room and bed. It was very dirty when I arrived but I did my best to clean it. It is functional and nice, but the bed is quite uncomfortable… read more because very soft. Take care to close it not to let the dogs going inside else they will pee... The cat Rakel likes to be in this villa and will be happy to sleep with you if you allow her to do so. You’ll have a good internet connexion and TV.
There are about 15 dogs. No rescued or stray dogs. Mrs B is breeding Cavaliers King Charles dogs for shows and selling. Boys and girls are separated in 4 different yards.
You will get quite dirty and smelly, so plan to have old trousers and tops for the work. Gloves are either recommended.
The work is mainly:
Morning: 30 to 60 minutes depending on the time you take to cuddle the dogs (they need attention)
wake up early to release the dogs in the yards between 6 and 7 a.m., check they have water.
Feed the hens, clean to pick up leaves on paths and in front of the house.
End Afternoon : around 5 pm – 30 to 60 minutes
Enter the dogs in their houses or cages, give biscuit and food, check water, pick up poo and clean yards to get them ready for the next morning. Feed the 3 cats.
In between, Mrs B will allocate you different jobs: help on the computer, gardening, painting, washing the dogs, their houses, walking some of the dogs...
Jobs are easy and you have time to go around.
On Saturdays, you go with her to town to the market and supermarket to buy food. There is also a supermarket 5 mn walk from Mrs B’s.
On Sundays you can have the full day usually.
Galissia beach is the closest and about 40 minutes walk one way.
Pagos village is 15 minutes walk.
Kini beach is about 1 hour and a quarter walk.
You need a car to get to Delfini and Gramata up north, which are the most beautiful and wild places for hiking and going to the beach.
If you wish to give time and energy to heart projects, in Kini, 5 mn walk to the beach, there is a rescue center for cats where they need help. For further info and contact, you can goggle helpsyroscats or search on facebook syros cats. They are doing a great job and take care of about 70 cats.
There is also a permaculture project
