Good morning,
Our names are Valentin Lesourd ( 31 years old) and Jean Pocquet, (28 years old).
We are both French and good friends!
We are projecting living the amazing Australian experience from September 2024 until September 2025. Indeed, we have just obtained our WHV, allowing us to work and move freely in Australia.

We have been friends for a long time, we worked together as animators in a holiday village twice. We have always kept strong ties and also had the opportunity to travel a lot together.
In France, Valentin is a Sport Teacher and Jean is a Diving instructor as well as a Ski patroller in the French Alps.
We both wanted a big change, and we had this common need to experience an extraordinary adventure abroad.
Australia immediately came to mind, due to its size, the beauty and variety of its landscapes, its culture, its rather sunny climate and its multitude of activities to do there. We have many people around us who have experienced Australia, and almost all of them are unanimous in saying that it is well worth it!!

This is why we can't wait to arrive in Australia, where we first plan to find a job, for 2 to 3 months, in order to save up which in turn will allow us to take a road trip within Australia but to also possibly visit the surrounding countries (New Zealand, Papua, Japan in particular).

We would ideally like to find work in or around Brisbane.
Why Brisbane? Because the cost of living is lower than Sydney or Melbourne, and because Brisbane is surrounded by the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast where we are aware of the job opportunities in hotels/hostels, restaurants, bars, etc.
We could also be tempted by an experience on a farm, in construction or even mining.

Upon our arrival, before starting full time work, we would enjoy being able to spend a couple weeks together to recover from jet lag, but also to be able to discover Brisbane and its surroundings and to actively look for employment. We would love to meet an Australian family and share friendly moments of cultural exchange. This is why we turned to workaway, which allows us to contact people who, like you, are ready to welcome people in exchange for some work to be carried out at your home.

We would be delighted to share pleasant moments with you and of course to help you carry out daily tasks at your home. We will be available to give a hand, whatever the tasks needed.

We could also, if you wish, help you learn French. We are also very sporty and we can give you good advice and share some training sessions with you!

About our level of English, it is decent. We manage to understand and make ourselves understood but we need progress to be fluent.

We would be delighted and very happy to help you. We look forward to meeting you.

- Jean can give swimming lessons
- Valentin can give sports/bodybuilding classes
