Hi there,

I am Janis but everone calls me Hanisch. I am 36 years old and from Germany. I grew up in the west of Germany and lived and worked as a eventmanager in Berlin quite some time. 2019 I took a sabbatical year and travelled central america to explore the world and myself. On this travel I realized that its not the place that makes an experience special, its the people around you that makes a moment and a place special.

In 2022 I fell in love with a dutch woman, guess who, and moved to Amsterdam. I took that relocation as a chance to reorientate my self professionally and since then I am trying out different kind of jobs to figure out what suits me and where I see a purpose, which I didnt really had in my previous job as a eventmanager. At the moment I work on a camping ground as a teamleader in the front office and as a tree worker. I Iove the combination of working with people, solving all kind of problems and physical outdoor work.

In the future Lonneke and me want to live somewhere closer with nature and take some distance to the busy cities and full agendas where you loose contact with yourself and the people around you.
We want to take this work & travel year as a chance to explore different life plans of people and communities out there to figure out how & where we would like to live ourselves.

From May 2026 on we are starting our journey together, following our flow and explore Canada and its people.

We are looking forward meeting you and sharing our stories, experiences and skills :)

EVENTS & PROJECTS
I'm good in organising events and in project management in general. I'm solution orientated and can improvise when it comes to unexpected problems and always looking for looking for better or more efficient solutions.

CARPENTRY
I know how to use some tools for building and have first experiences but I'm not an expert in any craft but I would like to learn more about carpentry.

TREE WORK
I have some experience in tree work like climbing, pruning or cutting down trees.

HOSPITALTY
I know how to lead a front office team from a big camping ground including small bakery, shop, rentals, bookings and taking care of the guests well being.

BARISTA
Preparing coffee specialtities, snacks and small dishes.

COOKING
I love to cook, also for bigger groups and like to have an overview over the stock and improvise with whats available

GERMAN-TIDINESS ;-)
I like to organise and giving things and processes structure

YOGA & MINDFULLNESS
I recently finished a 200hrs Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Education and would like to practise teaching, sharing and expanding my knowledge
