~Looking for travel buddies ~

Hello everyone!

My name is Garance, I’m from Belgium, and I’m 27 years old. After studying marketing and earning a master’s degree in international business, I worked for three years in a multinational company. But the call for adventure and meaning caught up with me! So, I decided to travel differently for two years, getting involved in concrete and enriching projects.

I’ve been lucky to gain diverse experiences abroad: two Erasmus exchanges (Portugal and Spain), internships in France and South Africa (surf hostel in Jeffrey’s Bay), as well as several volunteering experiences in Greece (animal sanctuary), Sweden (B&B with alpacas), and Mexico (hostel). I have worked in hostels, assisting with guest reception, managing common areas, and organizing social events. I have also participated in wildlife conservation projects.

What I Can Offer
🌿 Gardening & Permaculture – Basic plant knowledge and a strong interest in sustainable agriculture (I even wrote my master thesis on permaculture!).
🔨 Handiwork & Construction – Resourceful and hands-on, comfortable with practical work thanks to my scouting experience and various DIY projects with my father.
🍳 Cooking & Bar Work – Experience in restaurants and bars, comfortable in the kitchen and helping manage a social space.
🐾 Animal Care – Passionate about animal welfare, with experience working in shelters and nature reserves.
🎨 Creativity & Art – Painting, decorating, and small renovations—I love adding an artistic touch to projects.
📷 Photography & Video (with Drone) – I own a drone and love capturing unique footage to showcase places and projects.
💻 Marketing & IT – Skills in management, communication, and software like Frontdesk (hostel management).
🤝 Hospitality & Social Work – Experience in hostels (most recently in Mexico), excited to meet new people and exchange cultures.

What I’m Looking For
I’m open to all kinds of experiences, but I’m particularly interested in:

I am fluent in French and English, and I have a conversational level of Spanish (after an intensive one-week course at Lake Atitlán!). I’d love to keep improving my Spanish.

My Mindset
I have no minimum or maximum stay requirements and easily adapt to different environments. I enjoy teamwork but also appreciate moments of autonomy. I’m not afraid of hard work, and I’m always eager to learn new things.

My journey is guided by spontaneity, connections, and opportunities. Maybe our paths will cross somewhere? 😊

Je m'appelle Garance, je viens de Belgique et j'ai 27 ans. Après des études en marketing et un master en business international, j’ai travaillé trois ans dans une multinationale. Mais l’appel de l’aventure et du sens m’a rattrapée ! J’ai donc décidé de voyager autrement pendant 2ans, en m’impliquant dans des projets concrets et enrichissants.

J’ai eu la chance de vivre plusieurs expériences à l’étranger : deux Erasmus (Portugal et Espagne), des stages en France et en Afrique du Sud (Auberge de surf à Jeffrey's Bay), ainsi que plusieurs volontariats en Grèce (Sanctuaire animalier), Suède (B&B avec des Alpagas) et Mexique (Auberge de jeunesse). J’ai notamment travaillé dans des auberges de jeunesse, où j’ai aidé à l’accueil des voyageurs, la gestion des espaces communs et l’animation des soirées. J’ai aussi participé à des projets de conservation de la faune sauvage.

Ce que je peux apporter
🌿 Jardinage & Permaculture : Connaissance de base des plantes et grand intérêt pour l’agriculture durable (j’ai même fait mon mémoire de master sur la permaculture !).
🔨 Bricolage & Construction : Débrouillarde et manuelle, je suis à l’aise avec les travaux pratiques grâce aux scouts et aux nombreux projets réalisés avec mon père.
🍳 Cuisine & Bar : Expérience en restauration et en bar, à l’aise en cuisine et pour aider à la gestion d’un espace convivial.
🐾 Soins aux animaux : Passionnée par la cause animale, j’ai déjà travaillé dans des refuges et réserves naturelles.
🎨 Créativité & Art : Peinture, décoration et petites rénovations, j’adore ajouter une touche artistique aux projets.
📷 Photos & Vidéos (avec drone) : Je possède un drone et j’aime capturer des images uniques pour mettre en valeur des lieux et des projets.
💻 Marketing & Informatique : Compétences en gestion, communication et logiciels comme Frontdesk (gestion d’auberges).
🤝 Accueil & Social : Expérience en auberges de jeunesse (récemment au Mexique), enthousiaste à l’idée de rencontrer de nouvelles personnes et d’échanger des cultures.

Ce que je recherche
Je suis ouverte à tout type d’expérience, mais j’ai un attrait particulier pour :
✅ Les auberges et projets d’échange culturel
✅ Les refuges pour animaux et réserves naturelles
✅ L’écotourisme et les initiatives écologiques
✅ Les opportunités d’apprentissage de nouvelles compétences

Je parle couramment français et anglais, et j’ai un niveau conversationnel en espagnol (après une semaine de cours intensifs au Lac Atitlán !). J’aimerais continuer à progresser dans cette langue.

Mon état d’esprit
Je n’ai pas de durée minimale ou maximale de séjour chez un hôte et je m’adapte facilement à différents environnements. J’aime le travail en équipe, mais aussi avoir des moments d’autonomie. Le travail physique ne me fait pas peur, et je suis toujours partante pour apprendre de nouvelles choses.

Mon voyage est guidé par la spontanéité, les rencontres et les opportunités. Peut-être que notre chemin se croisera quelque part ? 😊

I believe that the best experiences come from human connections and shared moments. Whether it’s exchanging stories around a campfire, learning a new skill, or working hard on a meaningful project, I always try to bring enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude.

I’m someone who adapts easily, enjoys working both independently and in a team, and isn’t afraid to get my hands dirty. I love discovering new cultures, trying local food, and learning from people with different backgrounds.

Also, if you need help capturing your project or location, I have a drone and enjoy creating videos and photos to showcase beautiful places!

Je suis convaincue que les meilleures expériences naissent des rencontres humaines et des moments partagés. Que ce soit en échangeant des histoires autour d’un feu de camp, en apprenant une nouvelle compétence ou en travaillant sur un projet qui a du sens, j’essaie toujours d’apporter enthousiasme, énergie et bonne humeur.

Je m’adapte facilement, j’aime autant travailler en équipe qu’en autonomie, et je n’ai pas peur de me retrousser les manches. J’adore découvrir de nouvelles cultures, goûter la cuisine locale et apprendre des personnes aux parcours variés.
