Me llamo Garance, tengo 22 años y recientemente terminé mi maestría en Estudios de Medio Ambiente y Sostenibilidad en Montreal, Quebec. Voy a viajar a Guatemala con una amiga del mismo máster (Jade), y otra amiga se nos unirá más tarde. Junto con Jade, compartimos una gran pasión por los viajes, y ya hemos ido juntas a Cuba y Japón. Nos encanta descubrir nuevas culturas y gastronomías, así como la diversidad de la flora y fauna en todo el mundo. Estamos especialmente entusiasmadas por explorar prácticas agrícolas y proyectos ecológicos sostenibles en diferentes países, pero también estamos abiertas a cualquier otra experiencia enriquecedora de trabajo colaborativo.

I’m a 22-year-old traveler who recently completed my master’s degree in Environment and Sustainability Studies in Montréal, Québec. I will be travelling with a friend from the same masters. Together, we share a deep passion for travelling, and already went to Cuba and Japan together. We enjoy discovering new cultures and food, and the diversity of the flora and fauna around the world. We are particularly eager to explore agricultural practices and sustainable ecological initiatives in different countries, but are also open to any other enriching work-away experience.

Quais são suas habilidades?

During both my personal and academic journey, I have developed a range of skills but most importantly I gained deeper insights into myself and my place in the world, as well as what I can contribute to society. This is the reason why I decided to study biology and then ecology.
My studies have deepened my understanding of plants and ecological systems. My masters internship was in the urbanism field, looking at how we can use plants to enhance the resilience of cities in the face of future flooding. I am very passionate about plants in general and gardening, which I did as a volunteer in a student club.
Moreover, I worked a lot with children, which helped me get a strong sense of responsibility and has shown me that play and educational activities are valuable for adults as well; there is always something to learn from children. I have cooking and organizational skills. I worked in the food service sector for more than a year, both in a restaurant and in a café. I also worked in customer service.
I have a few yoga skills as I have been taking courses 2 times a week for 2 years. I am in good physical condition and don't mind doing hard work. I am passionate about writing and reading, and arts in general. I like making connections between nature and artistic expression.I love music and dancing, and am a very outgoing person.

I really love nature, hiking and animals. I also love board games, such as Werewolf or Dixit. I have a guilty pleasure: jewelry ! But what I love first and foremost is...people !! I can't wait to travel to meet new people who can share with me their amazing stories :)
