Hi, I'm Felix! I'm 27 and I started my big adventure right up north in Flensburg, a small town in Germany. Right now, I’m on my bike, carrying a tent, and heading all the way to Asia with my first stops Albania, Greece, and Turkey. I’m a curious person and a trained craftsman who loves learning new things and meeting people from completely different walks of life. Traveling by bike has taught me how to be easy going, deal with whatever comes my way, and enjoy the simple things. When I'm not on the bike, you can usually find me deep into board games—chess is an favorite of mine!

I'm a trained carpenter, so I'm good at fixing things and not afraid of hard work. I also have five years of experience working with kidsand people, grew up surrounded by animals, and I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

I can really recommend staying here!
I had a great first volunteer experience. My days were filled with taking care of the cats, ducks and luna and helping out with some repairs and building projects.
I had my own cozy room and there was always plenty of delicious food.

Felix originally came to stay with us with his friend Ruben, and what was meant to be a much shorter Workaway somehow turned into him staying for well over a month longer. By the time he left, he genuinely no longer felt like a volunteer, but like part of the family. It honestly feels odd, now that he has moved on! 😅

Felix is one of the kindest … read more people I have met — gentle, thoughtful, easygoing, curious and simply a pleasure to have around. We had quite a few different people living and working at the property during his stay, of different ages and backgrounds, and he connected naturally with everyone. It was also very obvious why he spent so many years working with children. A young family stayed with us for about a month while Felix was here, with their three-year-old daughter, and he was wonderful with her — patient, playful, attentive and completely natural.

And then there is what he can actually do! Felix is an exceptionally skilled and creative carpenter and an incredibly resourceful person. He worked on everything from fencing and kitchen shelving to furniture repairs and countless other improvements around the property. We don’t always have the ideal tools or materials available here, but Felix would look at a problem, think about it, and invariably come up with a clever way to make something work. He is hardworking, takes pride in what he does, and genuinely improved both our property and our everyday quality of life while he was here.

He also helped enormously with gardening, watering and the endless daily jobs that come with looking after a property and animals. He was incredibly gentle and caring with our ducks, cats and dog Luna, and I always felt completely comfortable trusting him with them.

Beyond all of that, Felix is simply wonderful company — thoughtful and intelligent, loves to read, is always up for a board game or a good conversation, and contributes naturally to the social life of a place while also being completely independent and self-reliant. I would especially recommend him to hosts where there is a sense of community or people coming and going — he thrives in that environment and makes it better simply by being part of it.

If you are considering hosting Felix, he is hardworking, reliable, trustworthy and enormously capable, but more importantly, he is a genuinely good human being. I would recommend him without hesitation. We were very lucky that his stay with us became so much longer than originally planned.

Felix, I don’t have to tell you, because you already know — you will always be welcome back here, and I very much hope you visit again soon! Until then, enjoy your adventures… ❤️🌿💫
