Hi there! We are Fatemeh and Pooyan, and of course, our constant companion, Tiko, our lovely little dog! We are an energetic couple eager to explore the world, and Tiko also loves new adventures and meeting new people (and sometimes new animals!).
How do we see ourselves? I (Fatemeh) am a filmmaker and was previously a theater director, so I have an artistic and deep perspective on the world, always seeking out new stories and angles. Pooyan, as a film producer, has a practical and organized vision, and alongside that, he is very strong in the world of startups and technology. He has a high ability to solve problems and launch innovative projects, turning any idea into reality. Furthermore, we are both highly creative and always looking for new ways to express ourselves and enjoy the moment. Our friends describe us as positive, empathetic, and always ready to help others.
Why do we want to travel? We believe that traveling is the best way to understand the world and ourselves. Our goal in traveling to new countries (and especially your region) is not just to see new places, but to immerse ourselves in the local culture, get to know the indigenous people, and contribute to the host communities. We want to gain authentic experiences and enjoy your region not only as visitors but as a part of it. We come from Iran, a country with a rich history and vibrant culture that, alongside its deep roots, is also witnessing rapid growth and transformation. Life in Iran has taught us how to live alongside differences and find beauty in every moment, which has made us adaptable, curious, and always ready to embrace new experiences.
Causes, Visions, and Hobbies: We deeply believe in the power of human connections and cultural exchange, especially through the universal language of art and cinema, and the boundless potential of technology. Our goal in life is to learn, grow, and leave a positive impact on the world as much as we can. We love participating in activities that help the environment or connect with local cultures. Pooyan loves coding and learning new programming languages, as well as developing startups and innovative technological ideas. I (Fatemeh) enjoy painting, photography, and exploring nature. Spending time with Tiko in nature and playing with him is a shared favorite pastime for all three of us! We also thoroughly enjoy cooking and trying new cuisines.
Our Workaway (or Volunteer) Experiences: Although we are new to the Workaway community, we have extensive volunteering experience. We have participated in various projects, including teaching cinema, art, and artificial intelligence. We have also been involved in launching art residencies, artistic projects, and cinematheques. Pooyan, with his strong expertise in startups and technology, has played a role in launching and developing platforms and tools related to art and culture. Throughout our travels, we have always tried to help the host community, whether through physical labor or through the exchange of our artistic, cinematic, and technological skills and knowledge. We are ready to do whatever we can with energy and enthusiasm and make the most of this experience.

Hi there! We are Fatemeh and Pooyan, an enthusiastic and versatile couple, eager to bring our diverse skills and positive energy to your Workaway project. We're passionate about cultural exchange, learning new things, and contributing meaningfully wherever we go.

A Bit About Us:

Fatemeh: (That's me!) I love to bring stories to life through various creative mediums and have a deep appreciation for diverse cultures. I hold a Master's degree in Theater and am particularly keen on sharing the rich flavors of Persian cuisine. I also have extensive experience working with children, including filmmaking, creating radio plays, and teaching cinema.

Pooyan: My partner, Pooyan, is a visionary in the tech world, always exploring the frontiers of AI and blockchain. He's also a skilled cook, incredibly handy, and loves solving complex problems and bringing projects to fruition. Pooyan holds a Master's degree in Business Management.

Persian Cooking (Fatemeh): I am an experienced cook and would absolutely love to prepare authentic, delicious Persian dishes for you and your guests – think aromatic stews, flavorful rice dishes, and more!

Fast Food & More (Pooyan): Pooyan is adept at preparing popular fast foods and various international dishes.

Language & Communication:

Advanced English: Both of us are fluent in English and can communicate effectively in any setting.

Native Farsi (Persian): We are native Farsi speakers and would be happy to offer language exchange or cultural insights.

Basic French: We also have a foundational understanding of French, and we are very eager to improve our French language skills during our stay!

Tech, Digital & Project Management Savvy:

AI, Startup & Crypto Expertise (Pooyan): Pooyan brings a strong background in technology, particularly with AI, startup environments, and cryptocurrency. He can assist with technical tasks, project development, or even just offer fascinating insights into these fields.

Film Production & Project Management (Pooyan): As an experienced film producer, Pooyan can also offer valuable assistance with project management, budget planning, logistical coordination, and similar tasks, ensuring smooth execution.

Video Production & Visual Storytelling (Fatemeh & Pooyan): Together, we can create compelling video content. We are skilled in filming, photography, video editing, and producing engaging promotional teasers for your project or property.

Basic Graphic Design (Fatemeh): I am proficient in basic graphic design and creating impactful presentations.

Copywriting, Marketing & Social Media (Fatemeh): I have experience in crafting engaging copy, developing marketing strategies, and managing social media channels to help your project shine online.

Assistance with Pets & Children:

Love for Dogs: We have a wonderful relationship with dogs, as we have our own dog, "Tiko," who is a cherished member of our family. Therefore, we are completely comfortable with dog care and playing with them.

Good Rapport with Children (Pooyan & Fatemeh): Pooyan has an excellent way with children, and Fatemeh has extensive experience working with them, including making films and radio plays. We can both assist with activities and childcare.

Teaching & Mentorship:

Art, Tech, Cinema & Theater (Fatemeh): I love to share my knowledge and can assist with teaching or workshops related to art, technology, cinema, and theater. I have also taught cinema to children and teenagers for many years.

Beyond our practical skills, we bring a wealth of personal interests and passions that we love to share and explore:

Fatemeh's Passions: I am an avid reader and always eager to dive into new books. I particularly enjoy discussing history, culture, and literature, especially that of Persia. I'm also a big fan of gaming, including board games, and used to play a lot of Call of Duty! My love for cinema runs deep; I enjoy sharing my favorite films and series and watching them with others. I'm passionate about art and love discussing it and sharing artistic experiences. Visiting museums, watching theater performances, and attending music concerts are some of my favorite activities, and I absolutely love sharing music with others.

Pooyan's Enthusiasms: I share a strong passion for cinema and football. I love to talk and share, not just about films, but about anything that excites me! I'm also a keen gamer and have been playing computer games since I was about three years old, continuing extensively until my mid-twenties before life became more serious. Building various things brings me immense joy. I particularly enjoy bringing people together, whether it's to watch a movie or simply gather for any happy occasion. I'm also quite the foodie – despite not being overweight (just a little extra, haha!), I love exploring and trying new flavors and cuisines.

Together: Fundamentally, both of us are incredibly curious and always seeking new experiences, whether it's a new taste, a new place, or a new skill. We believe these shared interests make us adaptable and engaging companions for any Workaway experience.
