My name is Mikołaj. I am an open minded person and have always sought to broaden my knowledge, experience and mindfulness. I consider myself hard-working and creative, so I am sure I am going to be a valuable worker for any host. The things that drive me the most are: music, as I always find peace in a creation of a harmony of sounds, therefore I admire both listening to and creating music; languages, for they are a tool of absolute understanding of our world and serve as an extension of our consciousness; and travels - exactly for the same reason. I am looking for hosts, who are able to provide work for me and my girlfriend Ewa. She is a wonderful and energetic person, whose knowledge and abillities always amazed me.
Ewa: As a person who loves art, I've travelled around all Europe, but after leaving for an internship at an association in Porto, I understood that the best way to get to know a given place is to join the local community and discover the charms of the place. I love swimming, but not necessarily the temperature of the ocean. Since I was a child, I was fascinated by the culture of Japan. I like to organize things, meet people and implement the craziest ideas as long as they are reasonable. I always find a way to complete the tasks assigned to me.
We have already attended in a Workaway experience in Limassol, Cyprus. It was a lovely stay where we were taking care of the organic farm, picking lemons, making lemonade and handcrafted local sweets or worked on a 150 years old vineyard.
Most recently we both worked as full-time workers at a remote hotel Laugarholl in Iceland, where we were doing general maintenance work such as: cleaning rooms, changing bedsheets, serving our customers, preparing food, maintaining the hotel pool area, inventorisation, waitering, helping our guests with useful or educational information about the region and, sometimes, guarding the hotel from the sheep! At that time we lived inside the hotel so despite scheduled working hours we needed to be available for our guests 24/7 in case of potential emergency. This job taught us endurance and work under pressure.
We both respect other people, as well as their possesion, abilities, disabilities, emotions and opinions, so I am sure we will get along. We live in Krakow, where I studied Far East and Eurasian Studies, while Ewa studied art history and tourism. She spent most of her free time on various festivals and exhibitions, she took an active part in the organization of such events and also worked in museums, events promotion or cultural meetings with artists.

I like learning other languages, I know English, Russian and some Chinese, I also have some experience teaching english. Ewa also knows english very well and we both are learning Japanese.

Quais são suas habilidades?
We have broad experience in gardening, household renovations, elderly companionship as well as cooking (mostly vegan/vegetarian), sales and bartending. We also like art, and would love to help with various art projects, but out of two of us only Ewa is educated in this regard. I (Nicolas) worked as a house painter in England, where I was also responsible for other tasks like wall sanding, floor skirting cutting and assembling and other things. I also helped my father finishing my flat from scratch, so I know a bit. I also frequently help my grandparents, who, due to their faulty physique, find it hard to conduct everyday duties on their own. We both worked as bartenders, so we know how to work under stress and how to manage our time efficiently. We both eat (almost) exclusively vegan / vegetarian cusine (and I am the sinner here), we usually cook the dishes ourselves so cooking is also not a problem for us. We also have some experience in teaching.
