Descrição

Hello, we are Esther and Xander, a gardener and tree surgeon from Shropshire, England.

Our jobs and interests mean we both love being outside, we spend our weekends hiking, camping, foraging and swimming.

From May we are taking a break from our lives in England to explore Canada. We hope to seek out experiences that will help equip us with some more practical skills. And to further our knowledge of sustainable practises that we can carry forward into the future.

We share a broad range of interests including:
Growing plants for food, medicine and fibre
Sustainable forestry
Self sufficiency
Nature conservation
Caring for animals
Ecology/Permaculture/Biodynamics

Quais são suas habilidades?

Esther is a qualified RHS Gardener who has a number of years experience working on large estates and for private clients. She has a range of horticultural interests and skills including:
Vegetable production
Fruit tree pruning
Seed sowing/Propagation
Habitat management
Garden design

Xander is a qualified Tree surgeon who has varied experience working in public gardens, private estates and nature reserves.He has developed an interest in sustainable woodland management.

We are practical people with lots of different skills and a positive approach to new experiences. As a couple we have worked along side each other as self employed contractors.
We enjoy working outside and with animals and have some experience working on small holdings and on farms. We are trustworthy, honest people and have looked after houses and farms (also children, pets and livestock) in the England, Wales, Scotland, France, New Zealand and South Africa.
