Hi! My name is Erika. I’m 19 years old. I’m from Colorado, but have been traveling for several months. After graduating high school, I decided to take two years off to travel and experience life.
In March 2024, I moved to France for a 7 month pastry course. This included 3 months of pastry and French classes before undertaking a 4 month internship in a restaurant. Since then I have traveled around Europe before making my way to Oceania. I’m excited to meet new people and learn more about different ways of life!
Some of my hobbies include traveling, hiking, camping, baking, and reading. I also enjoy learning languages. I have spent the most time studying French, but I hope to eventually learn Spanish, Italian, and German.
I want to volunteer on a farm to learn more about living a sustainable life. I have some experience in gardening and cooking. I am hardworking and always willing to learn new tasks. I’m excited to gain new knowledge and experiences before heading to university in the autumn.

Quais são suas habilidades?
I am most experienced in baking. It’s been a passion of mine since I was little and I want to continue to learn and improve. I worked for a year and a half at a cookie shop before starting classes in France. I am always willing to try new techniques and recipes.
I also have some experience gardening. My family grows our own tomatoes every summer and we’ve started to expand our garden. I have various potted plants decorating my room as well.
I have some experience babysitting and also enjoy taking care of pets. Including taking my dogs for walks. I also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for 8 months. I have basic first aid knowledge and taught swim lessons to preschoolers.
My French is still a work in progress, however I can read fairly well and have basic conversations. Learning a language has helped me to better communicate and understand different cultures.
I can help around the house with various chores from cooking to cleaning. I also have some experience painting and using technology.
