Hello there! We are Eleonora and Giovanni from Italy. We met a few years ago studying in the same library during our University years. Since then we had the opportunity to travel together a few times… and we found out we love that!

Starting with me (Giovanni), I am 22 and I am from Siena. I live in a big family in the Tuscan countryside where there is always something to do, like house chores, gardening and feeding chickens. I just got my bachelor degree in Natural and Environmental Sciences, and I will start my master degree soon. I like nature in all of its shapes, from plants and animals to its ecological side, and the best thing about it is that it never stops surprising me. I worked for a few months in the botanical garden of Siena, organizing documents and doing gardening. I am also participating as a volunteer in a socio-cultural association, where I help kids with foreign roots with their homeworks. In 2019 I spent a month and a half at my aunt’s house in a small island of Sicily (Vulcano), helping her and my uncle with their activity based on the production of high quality local tuna in olive oil and jams. I had the best time there, so last summer I decided to come back with Eleonora.

Talking about me (Eleonora), I am 25 and I am from Marche, a beautiful region in the middle of Italy. I spent my childhood and school years there, then I moved to Tuscany to study Historical Sciences and Cultural Heritage at the University of Siena. My main passion is drama and I had the opportunity to be part of a theatrical group in Siena for a few years. I love seeing drama shows in Italy and abroad! During the University years I collaborated with a socio-cultural association on some projects: helping children with their homeworks, taking care of a shared garden and working on an European project with elderly people. In June 2023 I left Italy to have my first workaway experience in France and I really loved that! I met wonderful hosts and discovered regions like Bretagne and Pays de la Loire. It was an important step to learn to travel alone and to improve my French. In November and December I joined an European Solidarity Corps in Poland, where I worked in an Emigration Museum preparing puppets and costums for a big show and some urban performances. I like discovering other cultures, hearing people's stories and observing relations among humans. Maybe these are the reasons why I would like to continue my studies in Anthropology.

We both think that getting to know new places concern to meet the people who live there. It could be great spending some moments with our hosts sharing our cultures through recepies, knowledges and talks.

Quais são suas habilidades?

We are easygoing people who can adapt to doing almost all kinds of chores inside and outside the house. Govanni has some carpenter skills as he built a wooden cabin near his house. He likes looking after kids and playing games with them. Eleonora loves gardening and cooking. In the last months we arranged an attic in Elenora's birth town, we painted and moved a lot of things to have a cozy litlle place for Eleonora when she is at home.
