Greetings, my name is Nils David but almost everyone calls me David.

Even though I love seeing the world as much as anyone, I don't like the consumerism approach to travel that seems to be the norm nowadays. Normally, that would keep me from traveling to my most beloved destinations, until I found out about the idea of Workaway, where I can put myself to use in return for excellent travel opportunities.

To me, the idea of work in return for a place to stay has only advantages compared to the tourist market that most people seem to settle for. I am mostly looking forward to work outdoors. That would have me experiencing working and traveling at the same time, because traveling is not only the physical moving across the world, but also the awareness of the world we're in. Any form of outdoor work will suffice. Having lived outside the cities in the North of the Netherlands all my life I am no stranger to bad weather (which is just weather to me).

I am an introverted person. Within my own mind I am most comfortable. I still enjoy being with and getting to know people. It just means that you will find me in a contemplative state from time to time. Of course while still being able to socialize. Furtermore I play the guitar and I like to engage in phylosophy and physics.

The Netherlands is very crowded (the second most densely populated country that isn't a microstate). I like to travel to more rural places where nature is more prominent than the concrete mazes of civilization. Therefore Norway is my favorite country in the world where I've been and will likely stay in that position. With Sweden coming in second.

With the internet and the accessibility of learning opportunities I try to learn languages as a past time activity. Growing up in the Netherlands you almost automatically get a small grip on the German language. So I have a limited understanding of the German language. So far I am learning Norwegian, Spanish, Latin and Finnish, Although I don't do a lot with Latin and Finnish. My English and Dutch are fluent so I might be able to teach a thing or two.

Quais são suas habilidades?

My skills that can come in handy are:
- Handling things on my own
- Creativity
- Insight
- Spatial awareness

I am often engaged in art like music and photography and I able to come up with out of the box ideas when needed. I have a good understanding of math and physics which stems from a perpetual hunger to understand. I like unusual things and I like even more to work on unusual problems.

My mental capacities manifest themselves in handiness. I am no licensed carpenter but I have no trouble working on physical projects. I have fixed bicycles, made furniture and programmed a hands-free face mask dispencer.

I play the guitar quite well. Especially playing electric guitar will always be my comfort activity.

I have had part time jobs in retail since 2020 and I am able to work in teams but I am fine being by myself for longer periods. I like to learn and I pick up new things rather quick.

I have studied Industrial Product Design for a year folloewd by two years of Business Administration. In 2024 I will dive into Physics. I speak Dutch and English fluently (Even though I am Dutch, my English exceeds my Dutch). I know Norwegian and Spanish at a very base level.
