Hello! My name is Ryoko, and I’m from Japan. I’m currently studying at a folk high school (Folkehøjskole) in Denmark. My first school will finish in June, and I’m planning to do a Workaway during July and August to make the most of my time here. I’m a friendly and active person who loves connecting with others, experiencing new cultures, and trying out different challenges.

My motivations are eating, exercising, and learning new things.

I studied abroad in New Zealand for a year, and during that time, I didn’t pay much attention to my diet, which led to an unhealthy lifestyle. After returning to Japan, I decided to reevaluate my eating habits. Not only did I become healthier, but I also started thinking more positively. This experience inspired me to study food comprehensively at university, exploring its cultural, economic, and technological aspects. I especially enjoyed researching Italian food culture and the Slow Food Movement.
I also started playing lacrosse in university, where I gained invaluable friendships over four years.

Running is my favorite hobby. My whole family loves running, so it naturally became part of my life. Two years ago, I ran the Honolulu Marathon with my grandmother and mother and successfully completed my first full marathon. Wherever I go, I want to keep running.
