Hi there,
we are Kat and Chris from Austria (Europe), a freshly married couple, that is going to travel the world together.
Kat, was working as a registered nurse at the intensive care unit before we started our journey. In addition, she is doing her masters degree in nursing science, which she will finish off as soon as we're back home.
Chris was working as a sales representativ in the district heating technology field. He did the engineering college, so he has some background in the overall technical basics.
We are both from farming families, so we are used to a huge varieties of tasks and physical work in particular.
Kat does love gardening, we have a huge garden, where she grows vegetables. She also startet to reforest our orchard. Our plan is to become as self sufficient as possible in the future, possibly even owning our own farm then, lets see. We are used to cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, my sister even has an alpaca farm, which is not too comon in our country.
Chris has additional two years of education as skilled agricultural and forestry worker.
He has a lot of skills in carpentry and construction, and in general some skills in working with different marterials eg welding.
Chris has the drivers license for agricultural vehicles, which apears to be just a national thing, but maybe gives you the hint that he can maintain and deal with them somehow.
We both still help out in harvesting plums and pears at an orchard near by, even though we were working full time, just because we really like this kind of work.
In addition we are a loving auntie and uncle to our two nephews and our niece 9, 7, 2 years old. Kat used to be an Au Pair in UK for 1 year when she was 19. Chris is also wonderful with kids. We really love them, sometimes we need a little time to warm up, but still we think we basically know how to handle them.
We are actually really easy going and open minded, so we think we'll go along with any task you have for us or at least we'd always try our best to do so.
We are fully vaccinated with all the travel vaccacines we could get in our country.
One downside though is, that Chris is quite allegic to cats hair, as long as the cat is not in the room he sleeps in, he survives easily and he also has some medication for worst case, but maybe let us know if you have a cat indoors.
The second downside is, that Kat is living a vegetarian diet, but she is very easy going about that and never lets anybody cook special dishes for her, she always eats the plain sides or bring something herself, but maybe let us know if that is a huge problem for you.
We love to travel in a minimalistic way, and at home we do travel with our old VW Campervan, which we sadly couldn't take with us over the great ocean. We also every now and then try some alternative ways to travel. We just really love to get in contact with the 'real' locals. We would absolutely hate to just sit in a boring hotelroom which looks the same in every country. We had amazing times traveling this way, and for us this is how we would define traveling.
