As I took a year off 2 years ago I did not know how much I would enjoy it. After 15 years of hard working on sometimes multiple jobs at the same time, I decided I need a break. With workaway and voluntary working I was able to see the world more close, help communities, use my knowledge and expertise and grow in so many ways. I love my micro lifes:

I am 41, Latvian, lately worked as a manager for tourism site in a small village next to the mystical mound. It is quite magical place I call home, there are believed to be powerful energies here. :)
Those guided me there after I finished my almost 7 years of work at university of applied sciences as an event manager.

For more the last ten years I have worked on project management, organizing events (educational, cultural, cohesion, etc.) in public institutions and NGOs, and leading tours of a local small brewery in German and English. In recent years, working in hospitality with tourist groups and individually has been my priority, I have been the (super)host of Airbnb for 7 years. I have also led lectures and seminars on tourism and communication tools.

Whatever I have done, I have always liked to lend a hand. I'm not afraid of physical work. In post-graduate Erasmus internship in Portugal, for example, I took part in setting up a permaculture garden, helping to organize seminars on environmental topics, and I was happy to prepare vegetarian meals for the whole team (around 10 people) and guests. I respect the environment I am in, so although I am not a vegetarian, I adapt easily.

Lately I completed my master's studies in International Tourism Events Management. My topics are sustainability, zero waste and eco design

I workawayed at Pam`s home for a week and I enjoyed every day and minute. I cleaned windows, digged some soil and had that great opportunity to brush her horses. Pam is amazing and caring person with loads of incredible stories to tell. She introduced me to province of Alberta and prairie life. I am deeply thankful to her about this experience.

I did stay in this incredible place for 3 months in 2019 and kept coming back because of the great experience it was. Now I can say I have found second family outside Latvia, in Portugal.
