Me and my partner Kian would consider ourselves as adventurous people, maybe Kian abit more so than myself! We're always looking to embed ourselves in culture and new environments and absolutely love being surrounded by people from all different walks of life. We currently live in the bustling city of Leeds in England, we met here during university and have stayed since. We have been together over two years and currently live together. As our tenancy ends in April, we are coming to the end of our Leeds chapter and have always loved the idea of living abroad and growing old together surround by natural scenery, animals and a community we can call home.

We would consider ourselves as positive people with an outlook on life of taking every day as it comes and making the most of the days that present themselves. We very much enjoy spending time together, with our families and with our family pets. Having spent the last few years working full time and living in the city we feel like we are heading towards burnout and we are craving a different lifestyle. I have handed in my notice and Kian has moved to working part-time remotely so this is a great opportunity for us to embrace a life more in tune with nature. We are especially excited to escape the English grey skies for more scenic landscapes and beaches.

We have a burning desire to help people and all living things. I have volunteered with a variety of charitable organisations that focus on equal access to education, women's rights, and food banks. Kian runs his own business helping those with physical setbacks overcome and develop a confident and healthy relationship with themselves. Not only have we both helped people but we also very much love caring for all things living, like keeping our houseplants alive, well some of them, and upkeeping our connection with nature amongst a concrete jungle.

Quais são suas habilidades?

We both have many interests, some of which we've done professionally and others which we cultivate in our own time. I love to bake and cook a variety of meals, recently I have been baking a loaf of sourdough bread weekly. We both like knowing exactly what's going into our food and having less preservatives then shop bought items. I would be very happy to cook for others and share some of my favourite recipes, as well as learn more. We'd love to be able to grow more of our own ingredients but we currently live in a flat in the city, so that's a little difficult! We would both get involved in any gardening or work there is to do on the land so we can learn as much as we can about living a more self-sustaining life.

Kian is a personal trainer with a degree in sports therapy and rehabilitation, so he is a great person to talk to about nutrition or any aches and pains you might have. He is also a very useful person to have around if you need to move any big or heavy things, having worked a lot of different manual labour jobs he is confident using power tools. I on the other hand may not have big muscles but I am not afraid to muck in and try! We both love DIY and making things with our own two hands so any opportunity for that would be welcome. We really enjoy the satisfaction of working with our hands, I do all kinds of crafting, mostly sewing my own clothes and making gifts for others. I'd be happy to show others how to do this or mend things that may need a bit of TLC. Kian is teaching himself leather work and recently made me a leather bound photo book. Kian also studied music for a year and he enjoys playing instruments and making music so neither of us are short on hobbies.

I enjoy reading and writing, having completed my masters in postcolonial studies. I am planning to spend an academic year in Hong Kong teaching English as a foreign language, beginning in August 2026. So, I love to talk about language, culture and would be open to any book recommendations. At the same time, Kian is planning to travel South East Asia to explore different cultures and experience authentic food from around the world. Kian also likes to read and journal, one of the books which had a most profound impact on him recently was The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday, as he now tries to practice stoicism in his daily life. We both have an appetite for education and want to interact with people who have had different experiences from ourselves. I have been learning Spanish, though I am still not very good! We hope to buy a house with some land and move to Spain one day as we love a culture that appreciates good food and good wine.

Both of us grew up with animals, I had a dog and 4 cats, while Kian had 1 dog, chickens and guinea pigs. As we moved away from home we spent less time with our pets so I started volunteering looking after other dogs. I had 4 dogs who I would see regularly so I am comfortable caring for a range of animals and Kian is great for tiring out the dogs playing fetch, I usually can't tell who's having more fun being chased, Kian or the dog! Though recently, we have spent most time with dogs we love all animals. Kian is especially excited to spend more time with horses so he can live out his cowboy fantasy and I may have been called a crazy cat lady by some friends.

All in all we have a lot of different hobbies and skills that we would be more than happy to share and contribute to the household. We are most excited to get out of the 9-5 work cycle meet other like-minded people and get more in touch with ourselves and the earth.
