Descrição
Mendiko is the name of our farm. It is an old farm located in the Basque Country. Half an hour's drive from Bilbao, half an hour's drive from the coast and about 50 minutes' drive from San Sebastian. There is an easy connection by public transport one kilometre from the farm to all these places.
We have several animals that we take care of every day. Of which Horses, Goats, Dogs,... Our animals are our pets and part of our family.
Little by little, we are also going to renovate the farm, not only the living area, also the grounds around the farm need to be maintained. Therefore, we are looking for people who can help us take care of our animals, help maintain the vegetable garden and grounds, or who feel like helping us renovate the farm.

We are 2 Belgians living in the Basque Country. Peter works as a veterinarian. And I, Leoni, I am an artist and make handmade artisanal products for animals and plants.
Our farm is not a buissness, but we are mainly looking for help in daily tasks. We would like to welcome you to our family.

Mendiko is located on a mountain. It is a quiet, peaceful environment surrounded by the beauty of nature and animals. Every day is different.

We are looking for people who can help us with all kinds of things that need to be done in and around the farm. Taking care of our animals, helping maintain the vegetable garden and grounds, or who feel like helping us renovate the farm.

We have 2 rooms available in the farmhouse on the first floor, or 7 hectares of land if you prefer to sleep in a tent. The bathroom and kitchen is communal. We provide food. There is wifi in the kitchen. Beds will have sheets and blankets.

We live from day to day, which makes our days very unpredictable, but also often very interesting. The village with restaurants, cafes, shops and public transport is a kilometre walk from the farm. The Basque Country has a lot to offer in terms of nature, (water) sports, culture, and social life.
Small note: It may take some time for us to reply as we are quite busy, but we always reply back to your requests. We would therefore appreciate it if you could send us a short reply even if you have made other plans, so we immediately know where we stand and do not have to put other workawayers on hold.

We can accommodate pets if they are social, not only with the dogs but also towards horses, goats, cats, sheep, chickens,... If you want to come with a dog we prefer females, as we only have females running around here. You can always contact us if you have any questions.
