Hi we're Dan and Bella, a young couple from the UK. 😊 We are kind and friendly, love meeting new people and learning new things. We’re looking to travel and make some great memories before we start working full time in the autumn. We're both engineers - which is how we met! - so particularly enjoy practical, hands-on tasks, building things and solving problems.

Bella: I’m from Scotland originally and I have just spent the last 6 months living on Orkney, an archipelago of islands off the mainland's North coast, volunteering with a conservation project. My day to day there involved lots of walking across the island's rugged terrain and I loved being outside and so close to nature. I also really enjoyed learning a number of new land management skills associated with the nature reserves I spent time working on. I am passionate about protecting the environment, so I found my time there very rewarding! Some of my other hobbies and pastimes include fell running/hiking, gardening, bird-watching, swimming and playing the fiddle/violin. More than anything I love to try new things!

Dan: I’m an Englishman, nearly finished with university and generally keen on life! I’ve worked-away on two projects previously, and am keen to find the next one with the lovely Bella. These were wood and metalwork focused, and required hard work in the high temperatures of midsummer Spain/Austria. I’ve experienced working under little supervision through past experience in a soup kitchen, a couple foodbanks, a robot competition and many part time jobs. I like playing and writing music the most, but can get stuck into all that Bella said really (except violin and bird identification, they're hard!).

DIY projects - Painting/renovating, light construction, carpentry, crafts (sewing machine, creative art), mechanical/electrical repair.
Gardening - Plant care, chopping bushes/trees, hedge and reed cutting with power tools, mowing.

Bella: I’ve recently gained skills and experience in a number of areas including gardening, pruning trees, managing vegetation, fencing and fire building. I also have an off-road (4x4) driving qualification.

Dan: I’ve had the chance to learn wood and plaster work (not a good plasterer yet), metal work (grinding/ MIG welding steel & Aluminium) and a little bit of plumbing and tiling. I have a little gardening experience from helping mum & dad (and from workaway). I've chopped a couple trees down in my time.

We’re both very fond of music. Dan plays the trumpet and guitar and Bella, the fiddle/violin.

We love making and eating good food, we'd love to learn and try your favourite local recipes!

We like to spend some of our time under the sea scuba diving. We have both taught as qualified assistant instructors.

We are tidy and respectful people and always try to make ourselves helpful and useful wherever possible!
