Hey! We are Andris(22) and Gábor(20), lifelong friends from Budapest, Hungary. We have known each other for over 10 years now, always seeking new adventures and cultural experiences.
We both are university students right now, but we like to balance out studying by being in nature and doing things that allow us to reconnect with the world, such as art, specifically music, cooking, physical work and sports as well, as we're both enthusiastic and active people, who want to make as much out of life as possible. We are also fast learners who love building, creating, and having fun while solving any problem we encounter.
There are a handful of reasons why we definitely wanted to go on a workaway for a long time now. We're both open-minded and adventurous, so doing something like this, which allows us to expose ourselves to new situations, people and cultures, has been a long-time dream of ours. Personal development and self improvement is also important to us. We could learn a lot and also offer up what skills we already have to do something meaningful, while gaining unforgettable memories.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Andris:
I am currently in my 3rd year of studying Business and Administration in Budapest, at the Corvinus University of Budapest. Ever since I was a kid, I have been interested in sports, have actively played football, tennis and done skateboarding. I follow the world of football on a daily basis; I consider myself a passionate fan of the sport. As for, skateboarding, I have participated in competitions and even taught it for both kids and adults for over a year. Moreover, I had 3 different jobs since turning 18 while being in high school and studying at the university. Other than being a skateboard teacher, I have also guided tours in a chocolate museum for tourists and I am currently working at the project management division of a Hungarian State-owned bank. I feel comfortable in the kitchen, what is more, I enjoy cooking and baking meals. My interest for gastronomy went as far as baking my own sourdough bread. Furthermore, I am also comfortable with tools and fixing problems around the house, for instance I have experience with smoothing, plumbing, painting and other carpenting activities. Family is an important part of my life, like to spend time and help whenever there’s an opportunity for it. I’ve been a scout for over 5 years. Although I am no longer a scout officially, I have gained valuable experience with practical skills regarding camping and nature. Self-improvement in general is a central idea to how I live my life, meaning that I’m eager to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself with dedicated projects in connection with my life. Whenever there is a problem, I try to face it boldly, whether it is a loose shelf or having to create a roadmap for ongoing developments at work. Overall, I see myself as a practical, problem solving person, who strives to learn every single day.

Gábor:
I'm currently a university student studying bionics, which is a really modern part of science combining healthcare and technology. I plan on finishing next semester, then continuing my studies abroad to experience a different part of the world.
I know my way around computers and also like fixing things around me. I live together with my brother, with whom we renovated our flat together, so painting, building and general household DIY is something I have experience in.
I'm an active person with a lot of interests and a thirst for adventures, meeting new people and learning new skills. For me, life gets dull if I don’t move around, my favourite sport is climbing, but for the past few years, I’ve mostly been going to the gym instead. I’ve done a variety of different physical work in my life, from gardening to working as a stagehand on festivals, so I don’t have an issue with physically demanding work. I’ve also been a scout since I was a child, which gave me lots of experience in staying outdoors and made me love nature even more. I’ve also had my own troop for 5 years now with 5 children in it, so I know my way around kids as well, even if they can be a handful at times.
Cooking is one of my biggest passions, sometimes just to have something to eat, but I also like to experiment with brand new cuisines, asian cuisine is my current favourite. Music is also a big part of my life, I mostly play the guitar, but I really like drums as well. For me, creating music is a way to capture and share my state of mind.

Overall we're two friends who posess practical everyday skills for all kinds of work, whether it's DIY, taking care of a household, or something else entirely. We both like solving problems, learning new things and having fun while doing it.
