Sara is such a wonderful woman, she's attentive, precise and has a strong will of helping when in your house. It's been a pleasure to have her as a part of our team, so much so that we've asked her to extend her stay TWICE! A quick learner she has been very valuable to have in our team, we highly recommend her as a person!

We had a really wonderful experience with this host family. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed and comfortable. In a short time, we had the opportunity to meet many people, and the atmosphere in the house was very warm and familiar; it almost felt like staying with grandparents. We got the chance to improve our spanish skills and learn lots of new words! We are vegan, and they were very kind and supportive, providing us with all the ingredients we needed to cook our meals. We also enjoyed exchanging recipes: we learned new dishes from them and were happy to share some of our own as well. Overall, the tasks were varied and well balanced, including both indoor and outdoor activities, which made the experience interesting and enjoyable. We truly recommend this host family to other Workawayers.

It felt like our family had welcomed a new member – connecting with Marie-Christine was so easy and natural. The kids truly enjoyed spending time with her, and she was a great help teaching German. We all truly enjoyed the time we spent together and it was a pleasure to host her.

Marie was very kind, caring & helpful guest, adapting well to the rainy weather with an enthusiasm to improve permaculture skill's in my garden & shared affection with my animal's. It was nice to exchange cultural experiences speaking English & cooking. I highly recommend Marie for her caring way's & wish her happiness for her future.

I had the opportunity to spend six days at Mahesh and Gihan's hostel for a Workaway. It's a beautiful hostel in a natural setting, very clean and peaceful! I was their first volunteer, and I think I felt that a little. The hostel is quite remote, so I relied on them for my few trips, and meals were only provided on the first day. I had to be very independent and resourceful because I didn't have access to a kitchen, so I ate out many times. The written communication beforehand wasn't easy to understand; being a woman traveling alone, I asked many questions about the environment that went unanswered. My main task was to create and paint a mural, which was quite fun but completed rather quickly. It's a fairly masculine environment, in which I didn't always feel entirely comfortable. For me, it was a mixed Workaway experience, even though the surroundings are beautiful. (I've already had the opportunity to do WWOOFing in France, so I have something to compare the volunteer experience with) Thank you anyway for giving me the opportunity to try Workaway in Sri Lanka.

Thank you very much, it is our great pleasure to host you. As one and only volunteers for a period of 2 weeks, Mark is independent, reliable, trustworthy, smart and easy to communicate with and a great company to work with. He helps fixing and installing fences, basketball court, welcoming and checking in and out guests, collecting cash. Also, with his help, we are worry free, able to leave the chalet for a short getaway. We are very sure he is a great asset for any future host. Thank you very much Mark.

Zane stayed with us for about two months and it was a great experience. He had a daytime job, and on weekends he helped out with different tasks whenever needed. He’s nice, easygoing, and easy to work with, which made everything run smoothly. We enjoyed having him around and would happily recommend him to other hosts.

Nico came to us because his friend was a Workaway. Unfortunately he only spent 2 weeks with us as he was already committed with other Hosts. He is a very good worker and shows initiative. He dealt with some heavy work without a problem. Hesitant about speaking English but he speaks very well. We would definitely recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to welcome him back.

So greatful we got to cross paths with Jojo, Zakki and Yan! We initially spent 2 weeks with Jojo and returned for our final week in Malaysia as it found a special place in our hearts. A real sense of community from this workaway. There's a chance to meet the locals and really understand there way of life, we'd recommend going to their restaurants, taking the fishing trip, visiting the fish market and really involving yourself in anything Jojo suggests as it is truly a unique experience. We appreciated the Services Team enthusiasm, outlook and approach to everyday. The mission is very important and inspiring to be a part of. We had lots of fun here and look forward to our next visit!

I had the best time volunteering for three weeks with Diego and Silje on their permaculture project! I was welcomed into such a warm environment and felt very looked after, as well as enjoying being with the other volunteers. The work was varied, a good level of challenge, and felt very meaningful. I loved learning about permaculture and a more sustainable way of living. Would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a new experience living off-grid.

I visited Momchil and his lovely house in a small village near the lovely hills, I had a great time while i was there, The house was clean, comfortable and very pleasant. Although it was in the winter the place was warm all the time. he even came to pick me up from the next village with his 4x4 car as it was winter, prepared a healthy meal and a herbal tea. He has an awesome garden with vegetables. Momchil is a very friendly and polite person so we became good friends and I'm sure we'll meet again in the future .

🌿 Sakiko joined us in November, and from the very first day she set a completely new standard. She is incredibly fit, deeply committed, and puts care into absolutely everything she does. Honestly, we have never met a volunteer quite like her. 💪🌾 🧱 Just when we thought the day was done and we were ready to rest, Sakiko would still be there, sweeping, tidying, doing one last thing without being asked. Maybe it’s that quiet Japanese discipline and mindset, but it never once went unnoticed or unappreciated. 🌱🧹 🌻 She supported us with brick rendering, plastering, and gardening, always working with focus and pride. Beyond the work, she brought such a lively, youthful spirit and a warm heart to our space. 💛 🌏 It was also genuinely fascinating to learn about her culture and the kind of work she’s done in the past. Sharing stories, experiences, and perspectives like that is one of the most beautiful parts of hosting volunteers and Sakiko brought so much depth to those conversations. ✨🇳🇵 She was endlessly curious about Nepali culture too — asking questions, observing, learning, and showing real respect for the place and people around her. 💚 We feel incredibly grateful for the time Sakiko spent with us. Her energy, dedication, and presence left a lasting mark on both the farm and our hearts. 🌸 Hope you can visit us one day, Best wishes, Lena and Bishwo

I volunteered here for almost 2 weeks and had a wonderful experience. I slept in my van and used the kitchen and common areas in the volunteer house, which was very cozy and lovingly set up. The farm was about a 15-minute walk away (a wonderful hiking trail through the nature). Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming from the very beginning. The work was a lot of fun. My job was taking care of the kids and feeding &cleaning the bunnies. I had a phone call with clare before I arrived, and it was clear that each volunteer was encouraged to contribute their own skills and strengths. This made the work feel meaningful and well balanced. Clare and Laura (long term volunteer) took a lot of time to explain the work, especially the force-free approach with the horses. The principles, mindset, and practical steps were explained very clearly and patiently, which made it easy to understand and apply. What I especially appreciated was that the same principles used in the animal work were also applied in how people interacted with each other. It was a very respectful, open, and appreciative atmosphere. We often cooked together, sat around the campfire, and shared many laughs. I felt very comfortable, valued, and inspired during my stay, and I’m truly grateful for this experience. I can highly recommend volunteering here to anyone looking for meaningful work and learning.
