ABOUT US
We are a historic family from the city of Junín, a city of 100,000 inhabitants 270 kilometres from Buenos Aires, Argentina. We are professionals in different areas and we represent the 5th generation of a family that has been dedicated to agriculture and livestock farming.
ABOUT OUR ACTIVITY
The ranch is a 120 years old property located in the northwest of the province of Buenos Aires, on national road 188, between the city of Junin and the city of Lincoln. The ranch is 5 kilometres from the national road (on a unpaved road) and is surrounded by other neighbouring farms with whom we have a very good relationship - dairy farms, cow breeders, polo horse breeders, farmers.
Most of the property (300 hectares) is rented for agriculture (corn, soybeans, wheat), while the main house and some forests are under our management. In this area we have 18 llamas and 3 horses, which have to be checked and rotated periodically.
This area of the ranch requires permanent maintenance, both outside the perimeter and inside the enclosed properties (the sheds and houses). Some of them include running the vehicles, cleaning the sheds, cutting the grass, spraying the weeds, and following the tasks assigned by the manager in charge (who lives in a neighbouring property).
ABOUT THE HOUSING
The house that would be destined for Workaway has a kitchen, a fridge, a living room, a bathroom, three bedrooms, two fireplaces, gas, hot water and internet. Drinkable water has to be purchased separately. No one lives in the property, but it receives frequent visits from staff working for the family and from tenants who go to work in the rented fields - mainly engineers and suppliers.
ABOUT OUR EXPECTATIONS
We would like to involve a person or a couple who likes life in the countryside, mostly in solitude, surrounded by nature. Someone who wants to see results on the same day, who is willing to transform problems into solutions and who wants to help as a team with the caretaker and the family.
ABOUT WHAT WE OFFER
- A furnished and equipped house.
- All utilities covered (water, electricity, internet, gas).
- A daily exchange over the phone with a family member (Spanish or English).
- A daily exchange in person with the coordinator (Spanish).
ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT
The property does not provide transportation, neither to nor from the countryside or the city.
There may occasionally be power or internet outages.
Grocery shopping is not the responsibility of the property.

Everybody speaks Spanish. Only two members of the family speak English. The daily routine would require Spanish, while the weekly discussion of tasks could eventually happen in English. The cultural exchange would be mainly based on:
1. Carry out a change in the structure and façade of the property according to the work plan.
2. Exchange cultural experiences with the neighbors and the property manager.
3. Learn about the local culture in the two towns near the property (Lincoln and Junin).
4. Propose new ideas to improve the structure of the property.Ajuda

It needs a little help on the walls, but this would be part of the project.

It is important to bear in mind that the project is for living in the countryside, without a vehicle to go to the neighbouring cities. The vehicles on the property are only for use within the property, however, the coordinator may be able to take you to one of the cities when he goes to run his errands.
