Descrição
Hello! We're Astrid and Tono, a dynamic duo living on the beautiful island of Karimunjawa. We’re passionate about creating meaningful connections with people from all walks of life and love sharing our unique island lifestyle.
Astrid brings a background in project management, a love for work-life balance, and a deep appreciation for personal growth and mindfulness. Tono complements this with his local expertise, practical skills, and a welcoming spirit. Together, we’re a harmonious blend of creativity, organisation, and island know-how!
We’re transforming our 5,000 sqm private land into a thriving edible forest using permaculture principles. Right now, we’re focused on rain harvesting, composting, building raised vegetable beds, and landscaping.
We share our home with two playful puppies, Frankie and Quinn, who double as monkey deterrents, and a cat named Tiger. We’re looking for volunteers with permaculture experience to help us bring our vision to life. Join us for meaningful work, cultural exchange, and a taste of island living!Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

**GARDENING**
Primarily we’re looking for people with knowledge in permaculture/gardening/landscaping and who have experience growing in the tropics. We have 5,000 sqm of private land that we have started turning into a fruit and vegetable garden. There is a freshwater stream on this piece of land, but water is still limited in the rainy season, so we’d love a way to catch more rain water or somehow save more water. We really need someone with experience growing in the tropics and we’d love for this person to share their skills and knowledge with our caretaker who will tend to the garden in the long-term. The key here is that we’d love to create a two-way exchange of knowledge between local gardeners and experienced permaculture volunteers.Idiomas

I did some yoga and Acroyoga classes with Astrid; cooked and taught how to prepare some vegan dishes and helped taking care of the magical place. I also brought some ideias of how to start the food forest… read more
