Duncan is easy going, has a good work ethic and is a kind person.
To bad you only stayed for one week.
Wishing you luck.
My stay with Carmen was better than imagined. She was a lovely host and companion to work alongside. She was easy going and so hospitable. She was flexible with the days that I worked with her, and she fed me really well. And boy does she cook amazing meals!!! Her english is perfect and she is easy to communicate with! I learned alot about

I value my stay with Carmen and I would recommend it to anyone considering!

I went to Melsele hoping to learn a few bits of construction, and left with so much more! The other reviews are accurate in saying Carmen is a kind and friendly person, great cook, very welcoming and encouraging. The room is bright and spacious, Melsele is beautiful, nicely located and well connected by public transport, all the sort of things

What I had not expected was to have learned so much in just 4 weeks. Carmen has so much knowledge to share, and I am happy I was there to receive it. And not just about construction and living off the grid, but also deeper sustainability factors, plants, animals, food, culture, human behavior, communication, and so many things I should have written a journal to make sure I never forget all the precious enlightenment.
Living and working closely with someone you've never even met before can be awkward and challenging, but it can also be wonderful. Carmen received me with an welcoming smile and proceeded to push me out of my comfort zone at every turn, and I like to believe I came out better for it. I can only be grateful for this experience

Melsele is located in a very good spot and you can travel and see a lot of different places: you can choose if you want to spend time in cities or nature.
I'm very happy and glad that I've got to spend these two weeks with Carmen, but sad that it was so short! I would do it again, highly recommended.
Thank you so much!Comentário

Jake and I had a fantastic time with Carmen! We were only able to stay for just under a week but it was amazing to learn all about how these straw houses are build and the values around them. Carmen was amazing and made sure we got a chance to try and learn as much as possible. The food was honestly fantastic and we enjoyed every bite. We

We spent 3 weeks with Carmen as our very first workaway host and absolutely loved it. Carmen is very appreciative of the help that you do in her house and is a great teacher. The space is positive and encouraging; I went from being nervous to use tools with help and supervision to confidently using them on my own because of her guidance and trust.

Carmen is very communicative and straightforward, if something needs to be corrected or addressed she will make a time and raise the issue in a calm way, it is a really nice atmosphere.
Carmen is also a great conversationalist and ready to help, educate and share where she can. We had many great conversations, and learnt the names of many trees from her, along with the history of the area, recommendations for activities etc.
The living and eating arrangements were amazing, we felt very spoilt.
Carmen likes hard workers who share an interest in her house building project. It is a great place to learn, I highly recommend staying with Carmen.
Thank you!

Our stay with Carmen was unfortunately cut short, however for the week or so that we were there, we can recommend this stay to people with an interest in sustainable straw-bale building, container homes and self-sufficiency. Better to come with at least some experience given that this is Carmen's dream house so great care should be taken in all
… read more tasks and she expects a high standard of work. The work itself is flexible in terms of time— it’s all dependent on the weather (wet straw is not good straw!) but Carmen is very good at letting you know when you’ll be working, when you maybe will be working and when you’ll definitely not be working. When we were there it was unfortunately too rainy and we didn’t do as much as we would have liked but it was incredibly rewarding to see the roof finished! Bring with you clothes that you don’t mind getting completely chock-full of straw!!!
The accommodation was in Carmen’s house, a 30-minute drive from the working site. This means that on days when you’re working and Carmen is not available, you’ll have to either cycle, take the bus or drive her van there! Carmen made us some healthy and delicious meals each evening which made us a very grateful bunch!
Thank you, Carmen, for hosting us and much luck with the rest of your strawesome house!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
