If you’re looking for fun, comfort and relaxation, then we are the place for you!
We are a non-profit cultural association and our main purpose is to promote intercultural exchange and support the self-development of young people.
We believe in the beauty of gathering people from all over the world - different ethnicities, social background, political beliefs, religion - in one place and creating human unity where we share our experiences and co-live consciously in harmony.
For developing our activities, we cooperate with our hostel, a friendly, laid-back hostel in the South of Tenerife in a quiet neighbourhood of Plaza del Duque, only a 10 minute walk away from the beautiful El Duque beach and a short bike ride away from Los Hippies beach and the pretty village of La Caleta.
The hostel promotes knowledge of Tenerife's territory through the visit of less touristic sites, participating in the most authentic cultural events and supporting the locals.
Part of the profits is used to sustain the small local business (for example, only working with local responsible excursion companies and acquiring food from local organic farms) and to support 2 international social projects: Hospital Saint Damien, the only pediatric hospital in Port Au Prince, the capital of Haiti and free dentist consultation in poor areas of Brazil. The other part is used by the association for developing its activities.
The job is done at the little hostel, located just outside the famous tourist areas of Los Cristianos and Las Americas. It is not a party hostel, instead, wants to offer our helpers and travellers a comfortable, homely place to relax in where they can meet other like-minded people and as a base to explore the rest of the island.

We are looking for helpers who can stay for at least for 1 month, ideally someone with a high level of English and medium level of Spanish. Helpers should be friendly and enjoy meeting and dealing with people. To be part of our team, you definitely need a positive attitude to life!
Duties
> cleaning (to a good standard)
> help with guests/reception
> help with internet/computers
Hours expected
25 hours per week
The helper will have 3 days off per week, 1 at the weekend.
We don't take couples or friends as helpers, just solo travellers.
Also, we would like to inform you that we are always doing a trial period of 1-2 weeks. If we realize that your effort & motivation is not as high as expected/promised, we will end the cooperation earlier than agreed.
We offer a wage in line with the minimum wage
This may be partially offset by part of the cost of the accommodation offered depending on local labour laws.

The hostel is located really close to bus stops that give you access to connections for all over the island. Our staff also have discounts on the activities that we promote with other companies.
IMPORTANT: from September 2021 onwards we will only accept volunteers fully vaccinated against Covid19.
