We live outside of a little town on the River Rhone in France, up on the hillside with stunning views. We have delightful nine year old twin girls. We need help mainly with teaching the girls as they are homeschooled, playing with them, cooking healthy meals. Some light housework would be helpful. You'll have your own room with a single bed, We have a lovely older French house which we are renovating. The town of Tournon is right on the river Rhone with stunning views and walks in the heart of wine country and with an amazing chocolate factory with free samples! We speak both French and English having lived abroad and travelled. We speak English and French with our girls.

Help me teach the girls general topis, like maths, French, English, reading, grammar etc. If you are musical that is a bonus as we are a musical family. Play with the girls, read to them and speak English for them to practice pronunciation. Cook a healthy lunch, we eat only fresh food mainly organic, some meat but no pork. Help will be 3-5 hours Monday to Friday mainly in the morning so you will have plenty of free time.

We do not use our smartphone in presence of the kids, especially during meals or while playing with them, and we are convinced that we will learn from you and enjoy our time a lot more if we can avoid our phones while sharing time together.

You'll have your own bedroom with a single bed. An interent cable is installed with optic fiber. Wifi is available during the day, we turn it off at night. You'll share the bathroom and kitchen with us. We have sheep and a huge hillside garden.

We have a bicycle for you to borrow and the town is only 5 minutes away by bike where there are many restaurants and shops. There is a new sporting centre with spa facilities, a cinema, a theatre and many local markets where you can get fresh French food, clothes and such. Tournon is a tourist town during the spring to fall with visiting boats on the river. Wine tours and the chocolate factory are popular destinations.

Hello my fellow Workawayers,

I traveled to this charming town to help this lovely family for a few weeks in November and now I am the lucky one having gained life-long friends!

Aurelie and Jeremie have a warm, happy, creative, peaceful, and easygoing home. Their beautiful 3 year old twin girls, Leyla and Alyssia are funny, incredibly bright,… read more well behaved, curious little ones that will leave you laughing and excited to see them each morning!

A little about what the experience will be like if you have the pleasure of doing an exchange with this family:

-Aurelie and Jeremie both speak French and English, however I only spoke English with the girls to help them improve theirs. It was adorable how the girls would mimic what I said and were always excited to learn more. I taught them fun songs and games ("Alice," anyone? haha) that they picked up on very quickly! We read books, colored together, did art projects, cooked, and other fun things.

- Each day Aurelie, the girls and I went on an adventure to visit the horses, Olympia and Pony, to the park, on a bike-ride to town, or to a friends house. They love being outside! We fed their sheep, Sheepie and Sheepette each day and I was thrilled that after a week of doing it together, the sheep were eating out of the girls' hands!

- This is a very musical home. Aurelie, the girls, and I played the piano, sang songs, and danced every day!

- As you will be part of the family, helping around the house is a given, but not a chore. I never felt overworked and they made sure I had personal time if I wanted it. We ate DELICIOUS food every day; healthy, mostly organic, almost nothing processed, or with unhealthy sugars. My friends, if you are looking for an exchange with hosts who eat junkfood (i.e. chips, candy, cookies), this is not the place for you. But, you will be more than satisfied and fed very well :)

- They live in a super charming town bursting with French Culture on the River Rhone, north of Provence, and south of Lyon. Their home is about a 10 minute bike ride to town. I had the bike to use whenever I wanted. I visited the town center which had the cutest shops, cafes, markets, a theater, etc. I rode along the river, took the bridge across to Tournon's sister town, Tain Hermitage, and one weekend went to a very cool wine bar and outdoor market. I went on a gorgeous hike above the town with the most stunning view! And one of the highlights of my time was visiting Valrhona Chocolate Factory. It's a chocolate lovers haven! I learned everything I wanted to know about chocolate through movies, games, interactive modules, and all while tasting all the chocolate I wanted as soon as I walked through the door. Mmm

- Tournon-Sur-Rhone is centrally located in Europe, so one of my weekends I went to Switzerland. Hopped in a BlaBlaCar ($16 each way) and 2.5 hours later I was in Geneva!
