Hi, I'm David.
I live off grid at the beach and am looking for volunteers to come and stay to help at my dog sanctuary to keep the land clean and to help with the upkeep of the dogs and to assist in fund raising activities.
UPDATE We have just 2 dogs left as we are trying to choose down to make repairs. So, the work is much more simple and easy for now.
You will stay in a small caravan where you can hear the waves and sounds of nature all around you.
The caravan has a double bed so it can accommodate a single person or it could be a couple or friends that don't mind sharing the bed.
Or there is a studio apartment converted from a truck.
TIMES.
3-4 hours a day for 5 days a week then 2 days off.
WHAT YOU WILL GET.
A bed for sleeping.
A kitchen for cooking.
There is a water flushing toilet.
A hot shower.
Use of surfboards, we are 30 seconds from an amazing surfing beach.
There are also guitars and bodyboards here for you to use. Fishing equipment.
We are very uniquely situated here with he beach and ocean directly in front of the property.
It's basic here being off grid, but comfortable if you enjoy that kind of thing.
Everything is solar and battery powered so we ask that you do minimal electrical use over night, a laptop or phone would be fine overnight for movies or whatever though.
If you like a lot of ultra modern comforts, it's probably not for you,
The towns of Baleal and Ferrel are both just a 10 minute walk away with a bank, shops restaurants, bars and nightlife.
This will be like an open shelter style. It's a big land with open space so we won't really be using kennels and the dogs can sleep inside (or outside) with the humans in a more informal style.... in their own dog beds of course!🐶😅
Like just 1 or 2 dogs per person. I've got 3 dogs that sleep in my room already😅
The administrative duties and my own job keep me quite busy so I need people who can be independent and work well in a team with the other volunteers. Most of the work is to walk, feed and just be there with the rescue dogs and at times to help out, or contribute if you have a skill, to some of our fundraising events as the needs be.
I enjoy big talk rather than small, economics, geo-politics, evolution, science and nature, physics and the universe. I care about equality, enjoy reading and studying, am antifascist and a musician and surfer.

The place is perfectly set in the cliffs at the beach of one of Portugal's most beautiful beaches and the surrounding villages have a mix of surf culture and old Portuguese farming style.
You can learn the language, surf and enrich yourself in this wonderful place.

You would have your own caravan, it's comfortable and incredibly located!
There's also a truck that's been converted into a two bed studio.
We have a tent as well for anyone that had the camping vibe.
There is running water outside kitchen and a shower and a compostable toilet.

They both were able to do all associated tasks with ease and were very proactive and conscientious. As people I found them both to be kind and thoughtful and can't recommend them enough. I'm very grateful for their time with us and all of their help.
