I stayed at Marika and Roberto's house for three weeks, and it was very lovely.

They will cook delicious Italian food and on your days off, you can easily go to Gold Coast to explore - the public transport is very easy to navigate!
The only downside is, that if you don't have a car, there is not much to do in the afternoon of your working days, since it's too far to go to the city and get back for dinner time. But you can go on some walks in the neighbourhood, if you like.

I had a perfect experience with Marika and Roberto!
The two little girls were lovely, and they are so easy to manage.
You will start working at 8:15 and finish at 13:00 Monday to Friday. Marika and Roberto cook really good, so you will enjoy homemade Italian food for dinner.
I really recommend this house!

I had an amazing stay with Marika, Roberto, and their 2 lovely daughters! I really felt part of the family, and it felt like at home for the 2 weeks I stayed with them. … read more especially cleaning around the house and looking after the girls who are absolutely adorable (if you're not good at cooking, it's okay you won't be asked to). Marika and Roberto were really grateful for my help, always thanking me and have really welcomed me as such.
I managed to find a good use of my afternoon and I was free on the weekend to explore the surroundings. There is so much to do (falls, mountains, beach...). I would advise you to visit all the cities along the coast, from Surfers Paradise to Byron Bay. Feel free to ask them recommendations, they have been really helpful! Transportation is accessible, there is a bus stop 15min walking from their place, a shopping centre and train station nearby, and a tram to move about the city centre. I had a wonderful stay with Marika, Roberto, and their girls😊 Everything was as described. Food was included, the work started at 8:15 in the morning, and I had the rest of the day to explore the area. The family was very kind and welcoming, and Marika and Roberto would often show appreciation for the work I did by saying "thank you" when I finished a task, which helped to know that my work was appreciated. I got my own private room, and the neighbourhood they live in, though a bit out of the city, was very quiet and a nice place. It was very close to a bus stop though, so it was pretty easy to get to the nearby cities. I recommend this Workaway to anybody who is genuinely good with kids and doesn't mind helping out around the house. I stayed for three weeks with this amazing family. It is a great opportunity to experience living with an Italian and Australian family at the same time. I was hosted by Marika and Roberto for three weeks, and it was a wonderful experience. They welcomed me warmly with their magnificent and beautiful daughters.

unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable with Marika and Roberto. There was a lack of some information that I feel is important to mention in the description of Workaway. on the one hand, the 4-5 (usually 5 hours) are spread over the day. that means an hour or two in the morning, at noon for cooking and often in the afternoon until 6 p.m. again 2
… read more hours or 3 to play with the little daughter. the washing machine must not be used, so you have to use the washing machines for a fee outside - and - you should sleep with the window closed due to paranoid fear of insects in the house. Since they live a little further out of town, it was impossible to use the time to go sightseeing or anything else. when the work ends at 6 p.m. dinner is prepared and rinsed off by 7 p.m. , it is also dark outside at 6 p.m. and the bike has no light. furthermore you don't get the same food as there is in the family. they only eat organic food, but for yourself it is bought differently, that is not a problem in itself, but it gave me a strange feeling that I would not be treated immediately. anyway, little was communicated and little interest in me was shown. we were all about the same age and you live very closely together in a small space. However, I was treated like a 15 year old who is only there to clean and babysit. I only heard what I had to do and was even warned to be on the phone while plucking weeds. they don't seem to understand that my work was voluntary and unpaid. when i decided to leave the family earlier i was kicked out. i think workaday is not the right thing for the family and they didn't understand the meaning of it. they ask more than they are willing to give.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Unfortunately, my experience with Marika and Roberto was rater unpleasant. I understand that I was there to work, but I was often approached in a very impolite tone and referred to as "the lady". Although main dishes (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were promised to be provided, I was only offered plain toast for breakfast- even jam or fruit I had to
… read more buy myself- while the family enjoyed avocado bread and fruit. Plus, they often stayed out for lunch and I was only allowed to use the plain rice or pasta (no vegetables) and there were two soy sauces: one for me and one for them and mine was expired. What made me very uncomfortable was the fact that they often talked bad about previous workawayers, judging them on how much they ate, for instance. The working hours were not always well communicated to me, sometimes I had to wait until 10 a.m. until I could start and I wasn't really able to leave the house in the meantime. What was quite helpful, however, was the fact that I was given many recommendations as to what I can do in the area so that I could use the free time I had to explore new things, but all in all, I do not understand why one would invite a guest in order to experience a cultural exchange only to treat the guest as an inferior house staff.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Amazing experience ! Roberto and Marika are very nice, funny and understanding. Their lifestyle is very healthy and their house is comfortable. I had a great experience with them and their lovely daughter. They did everything to make me feel good and enjoy my stay in Australia. They became a family, thank you !
