I had the greatest pleasure of sharing a month with this wonderful family in April, 2023. (I'm so sorry for taking so long to add this feedback..!!)
Alicia and Ioseba are extremely generous people and so proactive in sharing their time and community of friends and family, and I felt truly included as a member of the home. They are inquisitive and
… read more open-minded, and we would often speak about the different customs and traditions of our varying cultures. The family lives in a beautiful little town, Etxauri, which has some great surrounding landscapes. For anyone who enjoys nature, it's the perfect place! It's about 30min by bus from Pamplona, and there are buses that go every hour or so if you want to take a trip out on your own during the day.
My involvement consisted of helping out in the afternoons/evenings once the children came home from school. Haizea usually spent most afternoons with homework and extra-curricular activities, so I would say I spent more time playing with Ibai. Both children are wonderful -- Haizea is such a loving, caring big sister to her brother, and Ibai is a ball of energy obsessed with vehicles, in particular garbage trucks!
During the weekends, I had the option to spend it as I liked, but we would often do things together such as going to the market, rock climbing, visiting cousins, etc. All of the relatives are so welcoming and kind also, and I really loved meeting the extended family during my stay, being invited to birthday parties and such.
Overall as an experience, I felt that the family was more focused on cultural exchange and language learning, rather than serious help around the house. I had a few tasks such as cleaning up the kitchen after meals and tidying the toys in the living room, but otherwise, I did my best to proactively find things I could help out with.
Staying with this family was truly such a special experience, and I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity. If I'm ever back in Spain I would love to see them again!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Fartun is a very calm, warm and sensitive person.
She has helped us to practise and improve our English with interesting conversations.
Our kids also felt very happy with her at home. She used to play with them in the evening or weekends and our daughter still remember the way she taught her to jump rope.
She also helped us with the household
… read more chores. Fartun adapted very well to our family lifestyle, timetables and our food style (although everything hadn't enough pepper ;P).
It has been our first experience with a workawayer at home and It has been really positive. Thanks for share your time with us. Wishing you all the best 😊

I stayed with this beautiful and loving family for a month and half until March 1st, 2023. I already miss them very much and send them my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the time spent together.
This beautiful family consists of Alicia and Ioseba, the parents, and 8-year-old Haizea and her 3-year-old brother Ibai. They are a well-educated,
… read more fun, generous and active family. I was the first workawayer they hosted and I cannot describe the effort they made to make me feel welcome.
During the work week, they were all busy with either school or work but in the late afternoon we would all get together for some quality time.
Haizea is such a sweet, beautiful girl and she creates beauty all around her: She fills the room with music (especially while playing the saxophone which I adored listening to or while singing), and loves dancing, drawing, painting, making crafts, acting, swimming, rope jumping, beautifully decorating her food and baking birthday cakes… She loves languages and storytelling and most of all, making gifts and leaving funny little notes for others. And she is a loving and patient big sister to her little brother Ibai.
Ibai took about a week to accept me but when he did so, oh boy, did he regard me as an additional family member!! 🥲 He loves trucks, garbage trucks more than anything, and he is passionate about all things related to waste disposal! He loves wearing a Spider-Man costume, playing luchadores, setting up a store market with his toys, listening, dancing and singing to the soundtrack of Mamma Mia! and making a snowman on a snow day. He is very assertive, bright and imaginative. And he would always be patient to explain when I didn’t understand some things in Spanish. And how much he loves mischief!!! 😂
Alicia and Ioseba are both very active - Alicia adores aerial yoga whereas Ioseba is passionate about cycling and rock climbing. The whole family loves hiking and skiing, the latter preferably while being away with their motorhome. They are very curious about other countries, cultures and lifestyles, very open-minded and generous. They are loving and exceptional parents and for me they, would either buy or make me my favorite food without asking and always tried to accommodate me.
As I felt it, they did not need actual help with their everyday life but rather welcomed the experience of hosting workawayers as a cultural experience and for personal growth. It certainly has been one for me!! However, I tried my best to help with the kids, tidy up after Ibais toys, and I was responsible for cleaning up after meal times.
Etxauri is a charming village with breathtaking landscape and beautiful nature in Navarra which is bilingual in both Basque and Castellano. People there are warm and friendly and always open for a chat, no matter how well you speak Spanish, and they love their customs and traditions! 😁
THANK YOU - dear Alicia, Haizea, Ibai and Ioseba for hosting me. It is an experience I’ll never forget and until we meet again, I wish you truly well! ♥️♥️♥️Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
