We spent 6 weeks at this place and had a great time getting to know the local area and the beautiful rainforest reserve. Andy and Lynette are kind, generous people and they made us feel very welcome and appreciated during our stay with them. Our main jobs were maintenance, DIY, cooking, cleaning and helping out with guests and the work was fair
… read more and clearly communicated. There’s so many great hikes to do around the area that we were always busy on our days off and we were really grateful to be able to use the car sometimes or join the family on their adventures.

You can feel at home since the first moment you arrive. Working around the big property in the rainforest, chilling in the waterholes, walking the numerous tracks and cooking meals together like a big family is the “quintessenza” of Workaway.

Staying here was a delightful experience. One would assume that the very beautiful setting in the tropical rain forest and next to the many lovely beaches would be the main attraction...wrong - it's the lovely welcoming family. … read more their area. My work contribution was varied and enjoyable. I felt very much as if I was home and found many gardening, cleaning, repairing...things to do and every one of the tasks was very much appreciated. They reciprocated by inviting me on a family evening bonfire and meal on the beach, a day on Barrier Reef to snorkel and fish and jaunts to the local restaurant - thank you for all those things plus the delicious meals you served during my stay. I would say that if you're looking for a quiet time away in a caring, warm environment and you are prepared to help and give that little bit extra, time with the family will be particularly rewarding and memorable. I very much look forward to a return visit to this perfect Eden and already envy you a stay with the family.

Ten days that flew so fast. Living in this environment has been a relief, it helped to reconnect with myself, to be part of this luxurious nature, to get to know your family and simply to become happier.

The tasks were clear, easy, safe, and I learned a lot during my stay. I appreciated the trust you had towards us, and the freedom you gave us to organise our working days. It has especially been a great human experience. I felt part of your daily life, part of the family, and I'm really grateful for this. I got to see what is like to work and live in the rainforest. To walk and drive around, learning about wildlife, plants, landscapes. Well, I couldn't have experienced any better the Daintree rainforest I believe. Thanks again for that.
I already miss you, our conversations, this atmosphere that you can only find here in the forest, the birdlife and our friends the cassowaries walking around.

My experience with Andy and Netty has by far been the most adventurous, enriching and amazing workaway experience ever. I cannot thank you guys enough for the experience you have given me. I was only meant to stay here for a week, maaaybe two at most(!!!), and ended up staying for ten months... ups.

… read more make you feel like part of the family. Oli and Hugo are amazing little kids and a pleasure to be around and look after - they know so much about the rainforest they'll probably end up teaching you a thing or two as well.
The jobs are very varied from general maintenance to occasional housekeeping or checking in guests, to cleaning or looking after the kids. There's also lots of little fun projects to try your hand at. Plenty of opportunities to learn and gain new skills!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and loved every time we went to the mouth for fishing in the tinny or snorkelling and spear-fishing on the reef. There's lots of hikes and creeks to explore in the area not to mention waterfalls!! The most beautiful place in Australia and the perfect place to reconnect with nature and meditate and ground yourself.

Volunteering at the Reserve was an amazing and one of a kind experience. I was planning to stay one or two weeks. But I ended up staying five weeks, because I had a great time. It might have been my best experience during my trip in Australia.
The property is amazing, 500 acres of Rainforest, with a lot of wildlife swimming holes, hiking tracks
… read more and a waterfall. I've seen a couple of cassowaries, snakes and goannas on the property. During my stay I really enjoyed the work I was doing, I was making furniture from reclaimed hardwood and doing all kinds of carpentry. Lynette, Andy and the kids are really nice, they made me feel like I was part of the family. They both are really good cooks, we often had fresh fish or crab that Andy catched. They also took me out on their family trips. We went fishing, to the Great Barrier Reef and we did a crocodile tour.

… read more and their friends I went on adventures, swam in the creek, learnt from Nature observation, played games, picked fruit from the trees while driving a quad, watched movies under the stars, cooked delicious food and lots more.
My job consisted in going through general cleaning duties such as cleaning up the pathways used by the tourists, ensure hygienic standard of restrooms and lunch areas, help in the construction of the most recent wooden lodge and sometimes entertain the kids or prepare dinner.

We stayed for a fortnight and had an amazing experience. Our hosts and the manager of the project were generous and welcoming and the location was absolutely stunning.
