Hi!
We (that is Veronika and Michael) are some nature loving creatures who are living in the deep forests of Dalsland in Sweden. We try to live a sustainable lifestyle by growing own food and living in harmony with nature. Veronika is wholehearted in handicraft (slöjdare) and art. I (Michael) love to grow food but also sculpturing, kayaking and sailing. We have been living in Sweden since 1999. Our native language is german but we speak fluently swedish... and not always that fluently english. (But we will get better with your help).
We share the farm with 5 sheep, about 20 chicken, 1 dog, one cat, 40 000 honeybees and all wild creatures who chooses living with us!
Beside that we can use some help on the farm, we just love sharing this wonderful place we are living at and we are mostly interested in cultural exchange and meeting new people.
During summer-season we spend most weekdays with work in our own landscaping -company.
We don't feel like we are extreme in any way, but our philosophy is that we try to live in a way that if everybody would live like that, the world should be a better place. Therefore please understand, that it would feel kinda weird, if you come here by short distance flights!

We have about 23 years of experience in ecological gardening and breeding of chicken and sheep. One of our projects which could be at interest is that we are building an off-grid log-cabin nearby where we will try to establish a place in the future for people to try some living-sustainable-in-the-woods-for-a-year or maybe even the beginning for a community or a "tribe".

Live and help on the farm is different through the year.
There is, as I call it, the time of birth (about April to June). New live is born everywhere. The lambs, the chicks and the plants sometimes need our help, sometimes only a watching eye. Most tasks in this time would be in the garden, like planting potatoes and other vegetables.
Then the time of growing comes (June-August). In this time we can use some help in the garden as well. Still planting but also picking weed and mucking the stable. And it also already begins the time to harvest the first treasures of nature like the lingonberries and blueberries in the woods and the gooseberries and currants and strawberries on the farm.
From this time on there could be some room for small, different building projects which are needed to be done for maintaining the farm. Maybe a little bridge over the brook, building a fence for a new garden, hatching the roof on the sheep stable or any other surprise might come up.
The real time of harvesting is between august and october. Lots and lots of apples need to be stored and transformed to juice, cake and cider. You can help us making Kim-Chi, Sauerkraut, harvesting potatoes, picking mushrooms in the forest and dry them.
When frost comes, the slaughter of the lambs and chicks are the sign for the beginning of the quiet time of the year (November-march). But even if the days are short we work in the forest with cutting trees for firewood and construction, building an off- grid logg cabin, and other work with lot of different carpeting which has to be done for maintaining the farm.
Under the whole year there is always tasks in the usual maintenance in the house of course.
We will be away during daytime a lot, so you would have to do some tasks on your own or with other work-awayers help!Idiomas

Our farm really offers a paradise if you seek peace. Perfect for Yoga and meditation for example. We have no neighbors in sight; next to a wonderful lake for bathing and stand-up-paddle directly in front of us. Own fireplace of course! We even got our "own" jogging trails in the forest. Or maybe you want to train at your archery-skills.
We are living very close to the Trestiklan nationalpark and the the lake Stora Le which is very popular for fishing and canoeing. We have a kajak and a canoe to use in the lakes near by and a sailboat in the lake Vänern. If you are at any point yearning for some city-life, Oslo and Gothenburg only 1,5-2 hours away! Their experience in gardening, farming and building were very useful for our various projects. We were sad when they had to leave and feel that we gained friends. We hope to welcome them back in the future.
It felt that he really do like to work. Specielly with things he never done before. He was interested in crafts and did not get tired to learn. An impressive young man!
It just felt really good to have him… read more
