We've started to set up a learning centre near Chiang Rai to promote natural building techniques mainly utilizing earth, straw, timber and bamboo. We are only a couple (French, Thai) and really need some help from motivated volunteers to help us to move forward faster and make our (ambitious) project come true as soon as possible :)

Volunteers will learn natural building skills suitable in various climates and part of the world, as well as organic gardening skills. We usually spend with volunteers time for discussing about some local/global issues related to environment, self-reliance etc

We need help to continue to build a small hut with earth and straw.
1. Volunteers will help to apply the mud mix (earth + water + straw) to make the wall (Cob technique)
2.They will make earth bricks (in a mold) and learn how to lay them on the wall (Adobe technique)
We need people interested in our project and ready to get a bit tired, dirty (but satisfied) every day.
Accommodation in a private tent, 3 daily meals for free. -

Accomodation in a private tent, 3 daily meals for free.We are about 30 minutes from Chiang Rai. You can get there by taxi (about 300-400 bahts). -

Meals will be mostly with meat or fish for lunch and diner as we order food from local restaurants which have no vegetarian dishes options. Volunteers having vegetarian diet requirements will need to prepare their meals for themselves, unless they are flexible.
Wifi and electricity (220 V) are available.
We ask all volunteers to have their own health insurance, and be sure they are physically fit for such work.
We ask all volunteers to refrain from any illegal drug use or excessive drinking in our centre. -
